    I agree with the choices especially the Nassarius Snails. They are great sand stirrers. I would also add some Astrea Snails as they will help to keep your glass clean.

    Gloves!

    I have them. They're not totally worthless. I also have a pair of yellow gloves used in kitchens that work well when I need to feel what I'm touching in the tank. But for moving rocks around and picking up non sesitive items the above gloves work well.

    Kalk Reactor/Kalkwasser top off

    I too have been adding Kalk to my top-off water and dosing for CA/Alk when necessary. Since I perform a PWC weekly I rarely need to dose the CA/Alk.
