    FS: 24" Coralife Lunar Aqualight

I have a 24" Coralife 24" Lunar Aqualight (2x65W) for sale. It has 65W Actinic 03 and 65W Daylight 10000k PC bulbs with 2 blue LED moonlights. It's only been used for 3 months and works perfectly fine. The only reason why I am selling it is because I invested in a metal halide fixture so I have...

    Caught a nudibranch!

I came home today from work and saw this guy munching on some zoos on my frag rack. Sucked him up with a turkey baster, examined him for a minute or two, took a couple pics and flushed him down the toilet! Hopefully he didn't lay any eggs.

    Devastation...frogspawn is dying...

Hey guys...no real updates yet. I am debating whether or not to buy another frogspawn or get another piece of sps. I think I'm leaning towards the frogspawn since I really liked it and I feel bad for the clownfish because they hung out there so much. But for the time being, I put some zoas and a...

    Devastation...frogspawn is dying...

Unfortunately, I threw out the frogspawn already. It continued to die until I was only left with the skeleton so I figured it was completely dead.

    Devastation...frogspawn is dying...

Yeah, basically...don't forget about the Warriors, who have basically been underwater for the last 13 years, lost as well!

    Devastation...frogspawn is dying...

That's a good point. I actually observed the temperature to be 90 degrees around 10:30pm after I got home from the hockey game. So as you have noted, the temperature could very well have been higher during the day time. Normally, I'm home right after work so I would have been able to take care...

    Devastation...frogspawn is dying...

Cool...I'll definitely do a PWC and run GAC. Should I take out what's left of the frogspawn to prevent further toxins from being released or leave the skeleton in there?

    Devastation...frogspawn is dying...

Yeah, I have a clip on fan which is now blowing across the top of the water surface. It normally doesn't get that hot in SF so I was really surprised that the temperature got that hot. But hopefully I'll be more prepared to deal with something like this in the future. Unfortunately, the...

    Devastation...frogspawn is dying...

It's been unusually hot in SF the last few days and when I got home last night, my tank was at 90 degrees. Everything has somewhat recovered except for the frogspawn which looks like it's dying, the GSP's haven't opened up yet and the the hammer coral looks bad (although it looks like it might...

    T5 Aqualights

I believe the K ratings for the actinic bulbs are 10,000K but I'll have to double check that when I get home. I used to have a 2x65W PC fixture from Odyssea I believe and they were more blue but I don't remember what the K rating was for that bulb. I'll have to check.

    T5 Aqualights

Yeah, I'm using a reduced photoperiod. So before, I had the lights on for 8 hours per day and with the new MH lights, I'm only turning them on for 5 hours per day. I'm going to aim to increase the photoperiod by an hour each week. So far, a few mushrooms don't open up quite as much as before but...

    T5 Aqualights

I just upgraded to the Sunpod 150W HQI 14k metal halide fixture for my tank and so far, I love it. The one thing that I miss is the actinics because I loved how the corals fluoresced under the blue light and having that sunrise/sunset look with just the PC actinics on. So I got a coralife T5...

    Diamond Watchman Goby

Yeah, give him some time. I have a diamond goby and the first thing he did when I threw him in there was almost identical to what you described. He then actually jumped out of the tank the first night so I would keep an eye on him. I'm just glad I was still awake to see it and throw him back in...

How long for xenia to attach to rock.

Yeah, I've heard the time varies. But I used a rubber band to attach a pulsing xenia to a piece of rock and I left the rubber band on there for about a week. I think leaving it in an area with low flow definitely helps as well.

    Zoas are dying...

Thanks MT79. I'll definitely keep up with the PWC's and run some carbon. I also just built a little frag rack out of eggcrate which hangs near the top of the tank so I might put them up there for a bit. I know some of my reds didn't open up until I put them up there.

    Zoas are dying...

I bought them from coralfanatics.com and it looks like they were under 250W and 400W metal halide radiums. I'm guessing that they have a large propagation tank setup so judging by most that I've seen, they probably were pretty close to the light. I did find that when I moved some reds that I...

    Strange Crabs out at night

I think if his body is smooth and shiny, it's a part of the mithrax family like the emerald crab so it should be reef safe. But I like everyone else's advice on crabs and would probably try to catch it and take it to the LFS. I think my guy is really cool looking but if I can catch him, I will...
