Hello, I noticed that my betta fins are not looking like these used to, I tried taking a close photo, can you please tell me how bad is it ? And apart from regular water changes what else can I do to stop the rotting and help the fish back in form ? Thanks !!

Hello, My Betta was doing fine, I had him since last November, I have noticed since last weekend that he is not right. I tested the water and all parameters are OK, I tried giving him today a quarter of a peeled pea but he didn't eat. Any hope of saving him still ? Thanks

Yeah I am referring to what I would put in the filter, it came with a mesh/sponge, but I saw a lot of people complaining that the filter becomes dirty quickly so I used instead a "FilterModul" which I filled with those rings and the extension with bio fine stones (Bio FilterGranulat) as well...

Is 0.7-1.2 mm gravel small enough ? I will probably stick with some silk plants and a couple of moss balls to keep it simple. For filtering which combination would you suggest ? I will check your previous post on recycling a tank, I remember you recommending recycling the tank with a fish.

I currently do not have any substrate in the tank, just plain gravel (DENNERLE PLANTA HUNTER Baikal S) I was wondering if I should add some substrate this time below the gravel.

Difficult to say, it looks more like the Planaria (maybe). Would it make sense at this stage to restart the process and give the tank and plants a cleanup to get rid of the algue and worms/snails then introduce the fish in a couple of days ?
