    Trematodes and Brooklynella or Uronema

Oh yeah. They were housed in a 150gal qt and all separated by dividers. The pH was 8.0 and the sg was 1.015 ammonia was a 0.0 . There is no substrate and a wet/dry filter. They were new wild caught fish and had survived for three weeks. Then a few creole wrasse began to lose interest in eating...

    Trematodes and Brooklynella or Uronema

I have some fish that have died in quarintine. Under microscopic study I have found both trematodes and Brooklynella or Uronema. I've argued with my spouse that it is Brooklynella and he thinks it is Uronema. I believe the symptoms more closely resemble a brooklynella infection. At any rate, the...

ok to feed only every other day??

If it makes you feel any better, during the hurricane in florida last year my power went out and I didn't feed my fish for two weeks and out of all my friends my fish were the only ones who survived. I'm not saying only feed them every two weeks but I am saying health fish have plenty of reserves.

    Clown fish shiver

I've had tomatoes lay eggs at work and they will also shimmy or shiver over the eggs to keep things from settling on the nest. Very cool. Maybe there is a nest in your future

    First Fish?

Skunk clowns are the best fish in the whole world. I bought my 125 gal just so I could own some skunk clowns. I also have skunks in my 30 gal. They are the most adorable fish ever. There is no fish better than a skunk fish. I just love them. You could say I have a sick obsession. Girls love...

    whats wrong with my lion?

Have you tried fresh squid? My suggestion is to go to your local market and buy some fresh fish like flounder and see if you can't find his chocolate. Stay away from goldfish. Freshwater dip some damsels and feed that fish if you have to. It is easier to introduce food to a healthy fish than a...

    First Fish?

I like green chromis, and after I've cycled one tank with them, I throw them into my hospital tank to keep my biological filtration going. They are hardy and the least aggressive of the anemone fish. I am not a big clown fan. Percula and Ocellaris are too common, tomatoes are not cute or...

What fish to get for the 140gallon tank?

In my opinion the best way to decide what fish you want in your tank, research all the marine fish you can and then pick your absolute favorite, the fish you cannot live with out, a fish that you would talk in a baby voice to...then pick out all your other fish that would be compatable with your...

    Shark Eggs

I have a baby shark and I bought a book called 'Sharks and Rays' by Scott W. Michael. It is an excellent book. I was also told that newly hatched pups have a high fatality because of being handled too much.... so don't pet your pup! just kidding. They bamboos and bandeds are cat sharks...

    Newbie to saltwater

I always cycle my tank with 1lbs of live rock per gallon. I use live sand mixed with regular sand. Also some specialty fish stores will sell seeded bioballs. I recommend using fish to cycle because the bacteria needs a steady food source to multiply. I've cycled with ocellaris before using the...

    I adopted a Queen Trigger

We have discovered that she can identify light and dark and she can memorize where the tank walls are, so we are trying to train her to eat out of a bowl. So far so good. we used a heavy ceramic bowl and put sinking pellets, squide, shrimp, and baby clams in it. She also gets Basa fish every now...

White spots on butterflies and brown spots on yellow tang

The black spots are a tiny worm, I'm trying to get more info. You should be about to buy iodine at a lfs. SeaChem, Coral Life, Kent Marine each make an iodine additive for reef tanks. It helps to cure the cysts caused by Lympho and its good for inverts too.

    Profile: Clownfish

I love Amphiprion sandaracinos ( skunk clown) they are my favorite. I would agree they are the least aggressive, I use to think the Ocellaris was the least aggressive but they are still a close second

    safe sand sifting gobies???

I bought a black fin shrimp goby and he ate my skunk which is a BIG 'no no' so he is gone but I want a goby to sift my sand and keep it aerated that will not eat my clowns. I was wondering about Twinstripe sleeper gobies or yellow headed sleeper gobies.
