since my tank is only 30g, instead of dosing calcium, strontium, magnesium, etc all in different bottles, i got Kent Marine Nano Parts A/B. Part A has all the major and trace minerals while Part B has a Ph buffer. Pretty Good mix, i get it for about $10 and it lasts about 2-3 months. HTH P-MAN

oh yeah, and i also wanted to ask about my torch coral. I found a good sized pod in the tentacles this morning. Could the torch coral have caught the pod, eaten it, and expelled its exoskeleton?

how much carbon should i put in my canister filter for only a 30 gallon. I usually put about half of the container of Kent Reef Carbon, but i feel this is too much as i read that only a few tablespoons every few weeks is good enough. TIA P-MAN

somehow when the lights go off i find about 50-60 small white Astrea babies. If I look closely enough, i can see their little antennaes. Kind of cool to know that this is happening. However, i think that the little amount of cyano and hair algae that i have is resulted from putting in Coral Accel.

Right when the actinics come on at about 8:00 a.m., my fish go straight to the glass including both of my clowns and my tang. They pick off the lagging pods that dont retreat to the rock in time. Pretty fascinating behavior.

i dun know. My goby was pretty healthy sifting the sand, then i started watching him come up in the water column for food, and then one day i lost him in the rock. :( I think the crabs ate him because i never hit an ammonia spike.

when i got a goby i just put him in the tank and he started sifting right away. Unfortunately, he passed away because there was nothing left in the sand for him to clean. Beware, when sand sifters clean the sand of everything, they usually starve.

ill try to get a pic of it when its closed. it kind of looks like cauliflower when its closed. Like buds of folded-in tentacles. Looks nothing like the one next to it. The buds also are multiple, not just one that contains all of the tentacles/polyps. At night a few tentacles grow to 2-3 inches...

just dont put the sealant on joints that are immersed. If you looked at Melev's loop, he used regular PVC cement, just not in the joints that are in the water.

my god, look at the amount of coralline. I have neon green coralline like that, but purple grows in really small spots for me. WOW is all i can say. 8O :eek2:

to help i have a piece of chaetomorpha in my tank behind the rock where they can breed. I have so many pods, i can spot at least one huge group on every pane of glass. And oh my, on the rock there are just hundreds. Too many to count.
