    Aggressive

i dont know why you insist on buying fish if all your fish have ich. sounds like a bad investment, ich doesnt go away with just taking out the fish that have it. good chance your clowns will get it to

    A Little Help Anyone

definitely covered, looking into an external overflow to keep the room in the tank, i have an internal on my 65 it just seems to get in the way

    A Little Help Anyone

i decided shallow because i have a deep tank now and its a pain to reach in and get things that may fall or drop. also fish swim horizontally so i want it to be shallow so it will be longer and wider. i like the look of shallow tanks as well, so hopefully it will work out. have you seen pictures...

    A Little Help Anyone

Hey everyone, let me give a little background on me and my fish tank before we start this. i currently have a 65 gallon tank set up with a 20 gallon sump and it has been running for 2 1/2 years. the inhabitants are two black clowns, sixline wrasse, hippo tang, bicolor blenny, blue damsel and...

    new 55 gallon Salt

i did reply great idea because it is a great idea, not overstocked and well thought out. i currently have a 65 gallon tank and it has been running for 3 years and everything has been going fine. the clowns are a good idea, i have a mated pair of black clowns they are my favorite fish in my tank...

    new tank is very cloudy

the cloudyness can be from little parasites cleaning out the rock crevices, just leave it.. it will go away.. its the aerobic and anaerobic stuff going on

Please explain the unexplainable (at least for me).

i had a 125 once but downgraded... ive had multiple chromis disappearing acts.. it just happens and youll probably never find the body so dont worry about it... the sailfin could be a number of things, maybe a parasite inside of the gills that you cant see. who knows could have been internally...

    Opinions Needed

im going to play devils advocate from experience before... i had a 125 gallon tank and one of the fish caught ick. i took all the fish out and lost nearly every fish i had. i dont like the hypo treatment nor would i recommend it. i think moving te fish around causes them more stress. whenever...

Long tentacle anemone and sail tang

well im going to post before someone rips you apart and hopefully turn this into a learning eperience... saltwater tanks are a lot of fun but they need a lot of time and patience to develop. an anemone in a tank that young probably wont last for long, in some cases they do but a 20 gallon tank...

    Keeping Mixed Clowns

i have a 65 gallon set up and i have two mated black clowns and 1 maroon clown... they dont fight and the maroon is a female and obviously the bigger one of the blacks is a female as well.. very very little aggression so it is possible without a doubt

Fish Suggestions? Fish that are not shy

any type of wrasse would be ideal. obviously ones that are reef safe but they are very friendly and swim around very active. also they bring a lot of color to the tank.

    135 Stocking Questions

try some large angels they look splendid and they give off great color in the tank although i would warn about corals if you plan to have any in the future. some butterfly fish wouldnt be bad either maybe a longnosed butterfly or a copperband butterfly. if you plan to get an eel make sure...

    Companion for Clown Fish

i would go with an ocellaris clownfish and only one because your tank is so small. plus you wont be able to add anything besides the clownfish because really no fish should be held in less that a 20 i would say... put snails in the tank with the fish... before you add anything let the tank run...

Please Advise On My New Tank.

your tank is young and when a tank is first started it goes through different algae phases and eventually the algae will go away or be eaten by your clean up crew. 1. Starting with your tank size. its a good size to start off on, a 125 will allow you to have many different species. 2. the...

    different clowns

i agree with melosu... ive been lucky enough that both black clowns stay in the LTA i have and the maroon stays in his separate anemone. how lucky are you haha?

    how much LR?

the 1.5lbs/ per gallon is not necessary its just a recommendation. quite frankly i think it is overrated because when you have that much rock in your tank it takes up to much space. also i would do research on the type of fish you are going to be having in your tank. the reason for this is...

    different clowns

dont be quick to judge the norm. yeah people say they will fight but right now i have a maroon and two black clowns in the same tank that is a 65 gallon and they both stay on their respected sides. they dont really cross each others paths and they have been living together for over two years...

    Cycling almost done.

is there anyway you could possibly transfer stuff from your 55 tank gradually into the 90... adding that amount of stuff at one time is going to throw off the chemical balance and it might even spike the water.. take your time transferring the stuff, what do you have in the 55?

Would you use this tap water in your tank?

ive been tap water for over a year now in my tank with no problems. i would just talk to who ever supplies your water and ask for the parameters... generally if you fill a gallon of water and leave it open for 2 days it slowly gets rid of anything, thats what i do... no algae and the same fish...

    Feeding new wrasse?

i would suggest getting rid of the yellow tang. the swimming space it needs is much greater than a 65 gallon tank. if you are looking for a wrasse, why not a six line wrasse? a caprenters flasher wrasse is another good option. if you get rid of the tang you could get a pair or a trio of...

    Carpet Anemone Advice

easy ziggy, hes just a new comer.. what really should be done is research.. take your time with this hobby, you can get so caught up in making your tank look nice or adding something you like that you forget what is best in the long run... just do some research on things and youll find what you...

    Reef only no fish question.

how about a small hang on skimmer, or just a small skimmer in general... mixed with a filter would work well i would think

    Reef only no fish question.

you can keep the tank clean by just adding some inverts to it... throw a couple of snails in the tank and it should be fine, how big is the tank? think about adding different inverts but i would personally stay away from starfish, some eat corals and others can cause tanks to crash
