Well I tested some RO/DI from the supermarket and it was reading 000 - 0001 on the TDS, so I know the TDS is working... Anyone know if the Barracuda has a flush valve?

Not sure what a flush mode is, but I can post some pics tomorrow. Good idea on the TDS, but my tank is telling me something is wrong as well... I will still get some distilled and test tomorrow.. thanks for the ideas...

Don't think that is it (I could be wrong of course... That's why I am asking). If I had simply messed up the lines I should have never gotten my earlier readings ( about 50 gallons ago) of 3-5 ppm out of the filtered line. Plus my waste line is still reading a higher ppm than the filtered...

a little more info... Water going out the waste line is at 180 ppm but not pumping as fast as the filtered line. I thought the waste line should flow at about 3 X 4 times the rate of the filtered line? Also tasted some of the "filtered" water... horrible chemical taste. Thanks!

I bought an Aqua FX Barracuda RO/DI (from Captive Reefs of course!) and promptly had the directions thrown out by my wife! I found the on-line directions, but there is no FAQ page. I had it set up perfectly with a TDS of 3-4 PPM for the first 150 gal or so, and now all the water is at 120...

I ended up purchasing a Poseidon PS2 (Titanium) Pump. It was advertised like the Velocity to be under 30 db. It was strange with my Iwaki... from day one it was loud, no matter how I mounted it... It never gave me the pressure I expected, I think it was a dud from the factory. Thanks!

It seems to me be observation you can tell when Calepera is going sexual or through a die-off. Just remove it then. I kept mine on a 12 hour light cycle for two years and rarely had any problems...

What kind of lighting do you have? Some of the stuff on live rock is photosynthetic and wants a fair amount of lighting for "food".

Lawnmower typically eats nuisance (hair) alges in your tank... I believe most of the blenny's are non violent to shrimp...

There are plenty of other fish with a good personality that will not eat shrimp. If you like a more camouflaged look you mike think of a lawnmower blenny or something similar... They tend to hang out on rocks and perch like the hawkfish.

Ditto... I would acclimate them using the drip method over a number of hours, as they are not only sensitive to water parameters but temperature as well... Sadly some just die because they are too far gone from the shipping process.. did you get him from a LFS?

As with almost all inverts they are very sensitive to water parameters... I had one in my 90 that was not fed for almost 6 months and he did just fine...

What kind of lighting do you have on that nano?

How big is your tank? How many hours per day is the light on?

Gosh, mine would eat anything!!! Great fish, that really likes to show itself off in the middle of the tank. I have heard that some people keep them in schools.

Bubble Algae problem? Had those for three years... have not grown or spread off that rock... I happen to think they are beautiful, along with the garnet algae...

Well I got all but one out yesterday, and I am waiting for the other one to rise upwards, then I will kill it... Traded it in from my LFS, who again said he ordered it as Green Hairy Mushrooms... He proceded to put them right back in his coral tank... Buyer beware... Thanks Reefrunner...
