    angelfish not active

I agree. And if I was in a strange place like that I would want someone to hang out with. Thats why I was thinking about getting another one. But if the reason it is acting this way has something to do with the water or tank then getting another one might make it worse. Maybe I should just give...

    angelfish not active

I have a 10 gallon planted tank. Its been going well for a little over 2 months now with neon tetras and rummynose tetras plus a few algae eaters. Yesterday I added an angelfish but has just been sitting in either back corner behind some rocks. It doesn't even come out to eat. Water conditions...

    Rocks for Decor?

You could also bake them in an oven. The high temperature will kill pretty much anything. You can find Hydrochloric Acid at hardware stores, I believe. What kind of rocks did you find?

    Plants and Parts

I have a handful of Frill that I need to remove from my tank. I felt bad just throwing it away. You would just have to pay for the shipping. I also have a 20" Incandescent Full Hood in perfect condition. I only have 1 light bulb but it has two sockets. Ill sell it for $10 + shipping. Anyone...

    Rocks for Decor?

You should just take a drive over here to Jersey. There are plenty of rocks around that are safe for freshwater tanks. Boiling them in water should kill all the bacteria on the rocks. I was actually about to try this today, so I'll let you know how it goes.

    Here we go!

I won't release them. I couldn't bring myself to do that. Getting store credit is a good idea though. Ill start looking around in the b/t section for different plants to use that will work with my light (Thanks Purrbox). Maybe there will be someone that is looking for goldfish.

    Here we go!

The first two pictures were taken before I switched the light source. You can almost see a difference in the third picture.

    Here we go!

I upgraded my lighting to a 20W Eclipse Fluorescent Lamp, so I'm right on the 2W/g level. Still not enough you think? The main reason I got these plants is because they were available at my LFS. How is buying plants online? Do they normally turn out just as well as ones bought at a store? I...

    My tanks today!

I like the use of light in the 36g tank. What kind of lamps are you using? Your tanks have real character, I like your style.

    Red Cloudy Water

Pitt Dude, I actually did the same thing as you. I cam from an established tank and I had the same issue while rinsing it. After like 10 times of rinsing and dumping, I was like, "Its never going to stop!" and just put it in the tank. I need to get more gravel before I can redo it all, but...

    Red Cloudy Water

When it says rinse the laterite, does it mean wash it clean or just give it a rinse? I mixed my some gravel in with the laterite and then put a thin layer of gravel on top. Im going to have to change my water, obviously. I think I may have poured the water in the tank too aggressively. Also, I...

    Red Cloudy Water

I am setting up my first planted aquarium. 10g. I rinsed the laterite thoroughly, but when I filled up the tank the water was so cloudy I couldn't even see through it. I figured that it would eventually settle back down, but it's been two days and there is very little improvement. Should I...
