Red Slime Remover / I Cant Skim

RO/Di water is all i use, i live 3 blocks from vivid aquariums so im lucky for that and water changes is what i've been doing on a regular basis. FYI, I just cleaned my skimmer again last night and it still overflows. I need to skim before i leave on vacation next Tuesday. I can't imagine what i...

Red Slime Remover / I Cant Skim

I used the red slime remover because red slime is a type of bacteria not an algae. The reason why my nitratres are up is because i cant skim at all.

Red Slime Remover / I Cant Skim

I followed all directions and dosed my tank with Ultralife's Red Slime Remover. I had the skimmer off for the duration of the dose however I performed a full 100 percent water change within a 3 week period and I still can’t skim. The red slime is completely gone; however, the result of me not...

Pics of my 125g reef tank 8 weeks after

too bad tonga branch is not available anymore, the branch would have made a huge difference. Does anyone know if there's anything comparable to it on the market?

    Attack of the bubbles!

You do have Cyno, the best method I ever came across was to cut the dose in half with whatever you use. Watch your skimmer though. Buy a Crest sonic tooth brush and use it to remove the red and green algaes underwater - they are totally amazing.

    Attack of the bubbles!

the bottom 3 look like cyno and the top one looks like you have some babies. Do you have any snails? I suggest you buy yourself a magnifying glass. This is the best hobby ever! Wait until you see things on your glass up close and personal.

    question

its extremely important to maintain your magesium levels too. It helps regulate the balance between calcium and carbonates (alkalinity) in saltwater.

    sps feeding

I recently purchased some acropora - however on every website I see reccomendations on what to feed them. Well, how often are you suppose to feed these guys. And what do you feed Small Polyp Stonies (SPS). I've been adding marine snow on a daily basis. Is this too much? I dont want to battle the...

Small white spots on my glass....

they are feather dusters, scrape them off with an acrylic blade if you want to. Dont try to scrape them off with a magnetic scraper - it will scratch acrylic tanks.

    Star shaped moving critter

once i removed all of my ast. stars my tank started thriving. I was losing corals left and right but i never witnessed the stars grubbing till i caught a swarm of them eating my galaxia colony at 3am before i went to work. If I were you - i'd get rid them, thats my advice.

    algae issues

You need sand sifters? IE:Orangespot diamond goby (fish) or nassarius snails (snails) or some sand sifting starfish. To me it looks as though you aren't maintaining your tank the way it should be maintained. keep up on your maintenance or your tank will bloom like crazy.

    need help understanding

Hey bud, live rock and boulders are far from similar. Buy live rock wherever you can but keep in mind that tonga branch is no longer available (Errrrr). Live and uncured rock is best for cycling, a piece of dead shrimp won't speed anything up for you nor will a hardy damsel. This hobby requires...

    algae issues

dude, what kind of snails do you have, water has nothing to do with blooms. Ceths are the smallest and best for diatonms from what i've dealt with. If you have growth on your sand that means that you aren't properly maintaining your tank. sift the sand and create a storm effect every week or so...

    EEL Question.

I found the most beautiful eel I have ever seen in my life at Vivid this weekend. Apparently it is a (Rhinomuraena quaesita) better known as a Juvinile Blue Ribbon Eel. The question I have is a dietary one. What the **** do they eat? I have read soooo much about these beauties not wanting to...

    Aptaisia ?

IMO just pick up a bottle of joes juice. It will last a very long time and the anemone's die as quickly as you can inject them. Chances are you will find many more in the future.
