For Sale: my 300 gallon reef system

I've lost interest in the hobby. I think I might just like the setting up of reef systems more than the maintaining of them.... 300 gallon live coral reef tank FYI, The tank at the Anu Fitness Club I currently maintain will probably also be sold off as the owner said that if I'm not taking care...

    Drilling a tank

Many people think this is a super hard thing to do but believe it or not, every reef ready tank had to be drilled by someone at some point. It's actually quite simple. I'm going to walk you through it real quick. I think it should be done with two people, and you'll see why shortly. First you...

    Chlorine V.S. Chloramines

I feel a bit foolish as I've always thought and told folks that zero T.D.S. means zero T.D.S., but I've recently come to learn that this is not the case. Did you know that chloramines are rapidly being chosen over chlorine to treat tap water, and that this will not show up on your T.D.S. meter...

Doug's 105 rimless build and diary

Ok, so here we have a DSA (Deep Sea Aquatics) 105 gallon rimless, which has the dimensions of 48 x 24 x 21tall. Pretty **** close to perfect for a medium sized reef tank IMO. Engineers and uber smart folks..put on your thinking caps...

A friend is having a problem. It has stumped me. He has his system hard plumbed. No leaks, and it's drive is a Blue Line 70 external pump. Just for "poops" and giggles, it's a 120 in-wall display and a 30 breeder frag tank with a 20 long refugium and a 100 gallon stock tank used as a sump...

For Sale: Green Sinularia leather colony

I have a few giant pieces of Green Sinularia Leather that I need to move. It's a very healthy, non-invasive coral with a nice bright green color. Basically, it sort of resembles a Kenya Tree except it has nice color and doesn't spread all over the tank. Quite resilient and a fast grower. I Can...

Anu Fitness 150 gallon in-wall diary

I started a tank a few years ago for a friend that owned a gym and maintained it for about 2 years, until I moved further away. Just recently he contacted me and complained about the guy who was taking care of it now, and after some discussion I agreed to take care of it again. The tank is a...

For Sale: Healthy Yellow tang $10.00

That's right. I thought I could keep 2 yellows in my 300, but the one relentlessly chases the other. This tang doesn't chase any other fish besides the other yellow, so I would not say he's aggressive. He's about 2.5" at this time and perfectly healthy. Local pickup of course (19030) Happy...

not new news, but still saddening.

every time we buy livestock without researching it and it dies, or buy livestock, PERIOD for that matter, we should really internalize how we are just part of the big picture..... - World news - msnbc.com some day the only reefs might be man-made ones in public exhibits. :(
