Just bought a used 14 biocube, put in Carib sea live sand and punched LR from LFS. They believe the rock came from a previous tank. Tank set up for 3 days with saltwater from LFS, The top 2 rocks have a fine hair like growth on it. Here are a few pics in different stock lighting. Any thougts?

thanks for the replies. Ram 897 - with the new set up - are you draining it into buckets or did you splice it somehow with the python to still use the suction from the faucet?

I have been using a python 25' vacuum for ny 55 gallon with PFS substrate. The problem I am having is it doesn't seem to pick up all the waste and other particles from the top of the sand. If I put the vac in the sand everything gets sucked including the sand, but the waste just falls back out...

opps - It should be a HY-511 Tetra. Got them from the LFS, they said it was a new breed that didn't get a common name yet. I will try to post some pictures tomorrow.

I had the angels for a month, so they may have been sick. I'm not sure if it takes that long for them to die if they were sick though.

not sure what else I will get. I just lost another Angel, that is two is last week. Not sure what is going on. My third and final one looks healthy and is eating well. Guess I will need to test the water a few times this week to see if anyting is changing.

filter - aquatop CF-400 UV. So far I really like it. It is my first cansiter, so I can't compare to any others, but it has really worked well for the last 3 months.

From the pictures I seen of the flip up model, it attaches ot the inside rim of the tank and doesn't have much a hang over of the tank on the sides. let me kow if this is right?
