Im wanting to start a new sw aquarium soon and i am wondering if i need an RO/DI or if my tap water will be fine to put in the tank, or should i get i think its called well water from walmart from the culligan machine. Thanks!

I plan on getting a new 55 gallon sw aquarium with 1.5-2 pounds of live rock in it. I'm not really sure how much that will weigh once i add the water. I just want to be safe but would that amount of weight be safe for the second floor of my house up in my room?

I thought there was no need to have a filter as long as you have live rock and a skimmer and a cleaning crew. Do you have the filter becasue you dont have skimmer?

FOWLR stands for Fish Only With Live Rock. Which is just saying what you have in your tank. As for the 10 pounds for 5.99 that is a great deal as long as it is good quality rock. Most online suppliers charge as much as 5 dollars per pound. Roka what type of filter do you use in your tank?

Ya the 55 does not come with lighting i would have to buy it seperatly By upgrading the lighting how exactly would i do that? Get better bulbs, Overdrive it, or a completely new hood.

I'm pretty sure the t-5 provides more light because its smaller and more is reflected down into the tank and not blocked by the bulb itself when reflecting off of the hood reflectors.

I didnt even have a check valve when i made this post i rescently got one so that is not the problem and yes i feel pressure in the bottle. Do you think the mixture has something to so with it.

Thanks for the info ogden! I am having trouble finding a good place to buy live rock. I have heard that liveaquaria is not a good place does anyone know of a good one. Is buying uncured live rock the same thing as bace rock. Or is base rock a totally different thing all together.
