    Led lights for me.

Thanks for the replies I am going to check those links out. Another thing, does it matter with watts with leds with coral? Like some easy corals who require light / moderate lighting, will a strip or two do?

    Peppermint Shrimp's Bad?

I've had pepps with feather dusters for years and never had a problem, but like everything there is always that one individual who will rebel lol. But talking about commonly, peppermints usually are very shy and will hide a good amount or if you are lucky they will find a spot to hang out that...

Hello, I am planning on getting Led lights for my 20 gallon long. On aquarium sites and stores they are very expensive. Anyone know any affordable lights, strips, etc or where to find any. I dont have toooo much $ for lights at the moment.

    Leapord wrasse question

    20 gallon low tech

I personally have a 20 gallon long reef. Im running a marieland hob biowheel thats supposed to work for 30 gallon tanks. I took the biowheel itself out and just leave the cartridge. Also I run an aqueon power filter made for 20 gallons. The waters always pristine and crystal clear. I also have...

Yes, hermits do molt. I got scared the first time my hermit did it years ago... Thought he was dead.

    Leapord wrasse question

I have a leopard wrasse in my 20 gallon reef and he has been eating live brine shrimp every other day. How often should he be fed? Would everyday be better? There are pods on the glass and I plan to constantly add copepods to replenish the population. He seems healthy and happy. I bought him...

    Copepods in main tank.

The thing is its a 20 gallon long w tons of rock and not any space to put another cage in there. How about adding bottles every few months to replenish the population?

    Copepods in main tank.

A major reason for this is because the leopard wrasse wont take to flakes or frozen brine shrimp. I see him picking at te lr and want to have a good pod population and try other foods such as live brine, mysis, blood worms, etc.

    Copepods in main tank.

So the population wouldnt replenish within the rocks and the rock protected by egg crate? Im going to buy a bottle of pods at my lfs. Im thinking of getting some chaeto to go in with the liverock cage.

    Copepods in main tank.

I have a 20 gallon long reef tank. A buddy of mine gave me a piece of live rock from his fuge that has pods in it. I made a little "cage" for the rock to help keep the fish from picking away. I plan on adding a bottle of reef copepods from my lfs. I currently have tons of lr in there along with...

New 55 gallon... well old cichlid turning into a salt.

I got a 20 long thats been running for a couple years. Gonna turn my dads old 55 into a saltwater tank. Thinking of going with a few corals, simple ones like xenia, starburst, mushrooms etc. And most likely a baby snowflake eel with a singapore angel and what other fish do you guys think would...

Know what these are? And how to care for them?

Okay so my gf brought these 2 critters from naples to my tank about 3 months ago. I got a 20 long thats established for over a couple of years. They like to be in the sand, my sand bed is about 5 to 6 inches deep btw. They seem to be doing well, and i'd like that to continue, you guys know how...

    Evil Damsel

Just thought id let you guys know i put the damsel back in (a week or so) and he seems alot less aggressive he doesnt bother the baby maroon at all but he still bothers the gramma to a much lesser extent as before. So the qt was kind of a success :)

    Blue Flasher Wrasse

I appreciate that melosu. I checked that out before, thats where I found about them out. Sometimes live aquaria leaves out something such as it eating shrimp or small stuff. But it seems reef safe so thats good :)

    Blue Flasher Wrasse

Anyone have any experience with them? Im thinking about upgrading my tank to a possible 55 or so tank down the road. But I currently have a baby maroon, small royal gramma and a 3 stripe damsel currently. If I upgraded and added a blue flasher would he mess with my pep shrimp, cleaner, pistol...

Just got a new 30 gallon tank! what should i put in it?

Im sorry to hear. But try a battery powered air pump to keep the tank oxyginated and the surface moving. Hopefully the power comes back soon. Goodluck.

Just got a new 30 gallon tank! what should i put in it?

Hopefully the damsel wont become aggressive with future additions. I have a 3 stripe damsel who thinks the tank is his. But dwarf angels are beautiful but if you plan in getting coral they may nip at them. But I would reccomend a pistol shrimp, their fun to watch making tunnels in the sand bed...

    Coral Banded Shrimp

Personally I love CBS. Their so entertaining walking around looking to scavenge. But in my experience I added one a couple years ago to my 20 gallon which already had a camel shrimp and he went straight for it to take it apart. Some luck out and can have them with other shrimps.

    Evil Damsel

Update I currently caught the damsel (with my hands! :o. ) and hes in a container that holds four gallons. I put an air pump with two tubes to keep the water moving a little and oxiginated. How long should I quarantine the litle guy for?

    Evil Damsel

Im probably gonna try quarantining the damsel for a couple of weeks, I was planning on adding some corals to the tank in the meanwhile maybe this will help re arrange the tank a little. Hopefully when I add him he'll feel hes the new fish on the block. If not im gonna have to find a home for the...
