    new nerite snails

they do seem to hang out along the top of the aquarium. Just thought you might be collecting the shells. I used to collect lots of different ones. Neat hobby to have. How do the designs get on the shells? I wondered about that.

    new nerite snails

Those are the snails my stomatopod loves. Is there something they are used for that is unique? She cracks them is several pieces so shells are worthless after she eats. Do you collect them? If she leaves any whole maybe I could send them. ---------------------- Curly

Reef Crystals buckets through mail order

What would be the purpose of opening a 50+lb bucket of salt among hundreds going out each day? I just got 3 buckets and had to use a hammer.

Reef Crystals buckets through mail order

Direct the blame where it is due Kurt...try calling UPS and Fedex and really complaining....I feel your pain as I had several bad experiences last winter with them. There has been a tremendous sales of salt due to specials running out the end of April. Buckets have been order in mass...

    Clicking Aquarium.

I agree with Turbo...better read Ziggy's thread and if it were me, I would get that foam out from under the aquarium yesterday !!!!! Not a good thing for a glass aquarium. Good luck.

    Quick help. Power outage.

Any chance you have a smaller aquarium or a friend does that you could use temporarily? I have heard people say they use a large plastic cooking spoon or something to slowly keep the water stirred. If you have a bubbler it will help get water to the top to exchange oxygen (it won't put oxygen...

    Cleaner shrimp question

I have two cleaners and they are great friends !! They both hang out together under a rock overhang and are constantly digging out stuff to eat along with cleaning the fish. My Clarkii Clown hosts them and brings them food. Some clean fish more than others. I hand feed (using two fingers)...

    chemicals for saltwater tank

I don't use any chemicals and don't use RO/DI either. My water is good and I just aerate it for several days and then add salt/heater and powerhead for a couple of days and leave it in the Brute with heater/ph until I am ready to use it. Unless you find your water has Nitrates in it this will...

Mantis shrimp Deep Freeze or Live

Too bad you are so far away. Do you have a local Forum? I'm sure someone would give him/her a good home. The eat small hermits and snails and should a couple of times a week to keep their "rapts" healthy. They eat Frozen Mysis, Silversides, Squid, Krill, soak freeze dried food in Selcon also...

Gomer...I don't have a clue...but for the Big Tank Guys coming along...what type of filter equipment are you using? Are you using a skimmer? What type and are you using a sock on it? How deep is your sand bed? Do you have any ammonia reading? Are all of your inhabitants accounted for? Do...

    Help!

If you used LR, then you probably wouldn't see as big a spike...have you been testing everyday? The spike can happen and change in an instant...especially with LR. It sounds like your cycle is getting close, so just be patient...when your ammonia and nitrite are 0 then you can do a big water...

    Natural light effect on tank?

+2 on the natural sunlight. My 75 SW is in my kitchen by big windows and I love the way the LR is popping out with new growth of "things". I might not get as much since the glass is tempered, but when the windows are open it gets full force. Chaeto grows well with it also, and like Joy13...no...

    New Sleeper Sleeping???

I had an ammonia spike and the remedy

Hi rchbn..welcome to AA. glad you are getting going up the right path now...is there anyway you can remove your Shrimp to a QT (Quarantine Tank) until your's is cycled? He could die from the spikes as invertebrates are more sensitive than fish. I hate to see you lose anymore.

My Orange-spotted Goby I had would leap up in the water after any fish that came close to his burrow...I am now fixing a pop bottle to attempt to catch my Blue-spotted Watchman Goby...he caused the death of one of my Sissortail Gobies and bit the other one...you can see where his head was in his...
