    Lighting price question.

While browsing around for aquarium supplies, I always notice the $150+ price tags on light systems. They'll sometimes have 2, 3, or 4 fluorescent blubs in them. My serious question for you forum-goers. Why not just pick up a standard shop light for $11 dollars? My current 20g long tank uses...

I would say to take a look at your water parameters and see if everything looks normal.

    It's Been Awhile

If you're going with the 10 gallon a pleco with any type or shark or catfish will be fine, just watch out for size expectations of all three fish. So-called freshwater pufferfish could more than likely actually be brackishwater fish, meaning they need higher salinity than other freshwater...

    New 30 - Any recommendations?

So, I've got the saltie bug. Moving around has really messed with this idea because who wants to keep moving a 200lbs+ tank everywhere? I finally have a place to stay for awhile so I believe I'll give it a try. Besides the basics, does anyone have recommendations on what equipment should be...

Roflz. The only fish that have ever died was from other fish. Kk. I lose, you win,

    Cycling?

Maybe I'm just a lazy kid, but I've honestly never 'pre-cycled' a tank. I give tips and help for family members and friends because I wouldn't like for their fish to die and what not. I've started numerous ten gallon tanks, a few 29s, and one or two 45s, and I've always put water into the tank...

    New 29g, with pictures.

Yeah, that substrate is Flourite. Is there something I'm doing wrong because I can't seem to get it to stay clean if there is some disturbance across the bottom of the water. Anyone use some type of strategy in rock cleaning?

Here we are. This is still work in progress. The water is murky because of the weird substrate I've got.

Hahah : D An update. I was without access to a camera, and the sealant finished...so of course I started with the rest of the project. The land is filled, aquatic and land plants are in, a long hang over filter is in use until my underwater one arrives, and I've got this nice little rock wall...

Forget to mention the actual water filter. I think im going to buy a cheap underwater filter and attach some sort of hose to it and wrap it around and make a waterfall (or water trickle? not sure of gph yet) to add to the awesomeness.

Yep, she has two of my smaller tanks now. I suppose it is a paludarium...or a vivarium? Not really sure of the difference there. The black dots is my crude drawing of substrate that is underwater and could possibly just be gravel for a time. The separating glass on the right side, the short...

    New 29g, with pictures.

Recently, I moved to a new state. Somethings didn't work out, so I relocated again. Every other tank I had is now at the ladies house, and she's not giving them up. Hmm.. I bought a 29g tank the other day, and just now decided what to do with it. The sealant is currently drying on the...

    My Room.

Finally, the small bowls I've used as very temporary quarantine tanks. Keep in mind this is what I have a passion for, but is limited to small amount of time because of three different schools demanding work from me, and, well, this one girl. : )

    My Room.

Alright. Time to show off my room full of tanks. Well, not really. It's a tight set-up I live in now, so I can only have( or afford? XD) two ten gallon tanks at the moment. If you're on these forums at 7:30 tonight (Sunday) I s'pose we can have a good ole' discussion on the layout of these...

    Hi there

So, I've been browsing around these forums for awhile now, and when I found out I needed an account to view some of your (I'm sure they were amazing) pictures, I knew I needed one. I currently have two ten gallon tanks running; I would have some more up but...I'm still in high school and living...
