    Torch reaching for light??

Wow Kurt....You are correct..... Pretty impressive.. There is a Hammer Coral about 6-8 inches to the right of the torch. I guess ONE of them will be moved. Might be hard to find a spot where it wont be threatened though as it's such a small tank with alot of coral. Will the Hammer behave the...

    Torch reaching for light??

Hi guys.. been a while since I've posted.. I guess that's a good thing as my tank is just freaking awesome.. LOL Minor Question about my $10 Torch frag. Lately I've notcied that 1 or 2 of the tentacles are like super extending. They are like 2or3 times longer then all the others. I'm wondering...

    Coral questions?

Just for referrence.. A while back I was browsing my LFS stock and he received his weekly FedEx delivery. I was amazed to see how the coral were packed and shipped from the other side of the world. Example: He had a box of Zoas. They were just wrappped in Wet Newspaper and closed up in a...

bubble tip green anemone wont come out

My Green BTA moved to the back of my tank like 6 months ago and hasn't come back out since. I can barlely see him from the side of the tank but he appears to be doing quite well. It's his loss as I can no longer target feed him. He doesn't seem to care though :) Bottom line is these guys are...

    75G Reef Build

I'm using that same light in my fuge with cheao. I replaced another CF fixture. The cheato has grown so much faster with the new light. Best part was it cost me under $20 :)

    My first 55G FOWLR BUILD

Well.. you can place it anywhere you want, but it will move to where it wants to live. Trust me, it's usually behind a rock somewhere in the back of your tank. I gave up trying to get mine to come to the front of the DT. However, I've got a georgous Green BTA in my tank living under t5...

    Help Substrate

+1 on that!! I have NEVER vaccumed my sand. My cleanup crew does a nice job cleaning my sand. My Goby turns the sand over and the snails and crabs eat all the waste. What teamwork! I used FijiPink Aragonite.

    Purple Spots !!!

sounds like coraline....congrats:) Time to remove those fake plants. Before you know it, the entire tank will be purple

    75G Reef Build

the trap should catch all the bubble from the skimmer section to the return section. However, there is no trap from the fuge section to the return section and you are dumping water from the DT into that section too. Can you close that valve for a test to see if the micro bubbles go away...

    75G Reef Build

Without seeing or understanding your sump layout it would be difficult to advise. However, I'm going to bet that you do not have a "bubble Trap" in the 1st chamber. The water coming from the DT is pouring into the sump and makes lots of bubbles. Those bubbles are making it to the return pump...

    BUmmer

Maybe it's a molt?? They look pretty darn close to the living creature. Whenever my Pep Shrimp molts it looks like it's evil clone in my tank. I have to wait until the live shrimp moves before I remove the molt.

    Question for T5 Owners

Thanks for the replies Would have replied sooner but work got crazy. Yeah.. that exactly the type of info I was looking for. The Current Stock Bulbs are suppossedly low end on the quality scale. I've read that some people do some pretty cool combos with better bulbs and was just curious what...

    Question for T5 Owners

Been searching around for a good bulb layout for a 6bulb T5 Setup. I have a 36inch T5HO fixture (Current Nova Extreme Pro) with STOCK bulbs. This has been running for 8+months now and I know I need to replace the bulbs soon. I'm curious what bulbs others are using as I plan to replace ALL 6...

Here's what I've got so far

Good luck with the setup I've got the same tank.. I love it but I already want a 4ft tank :) It is narrow and the extra 6 inches of height does make it a chore to get you hands down to the bottom. But not terrible. Your stand is VERY nice... Good work. I'm jealous. Mine is pretty ghetto...

kid put a little milk in my reef tank

That's awesome.. As a parent of 3 little kiddies (oldest is 4) I can understand where your coming from. My son loves when the clownfish attacks me whenever I have my hands in the tank. The other day , he made a nice little ladder and was trying to get the clown to attack him. I also love...

    hissing RO/DI unit

That's what eventually plan on doing when I get my Sump/Fude reloacted down to the basement/laundry room. So, I assume you have a holding vessel, like a 55gal Drum where you store your waste water? If so, how do you get it from the Drum to the Washer?

About to start my 75g Fowlr

Also.. Try to have a plan regarding livestock.. Say you have 4 or 5 fish in mind.. It's better to add the least aggressive ones first. Of course, this is not always possible.. Just something to keep in mind when buying..

Is my tank too close to my TV? Electric shock scares me bad!

With a SW tank and LR, I'd be more scared of what hitchhikers are hiding near my hands when I perform tank maitenence.. LOL..JK.. or AM I? Seriously though.. Just get the grounding probe.. I doubt anything would ever shock you, but it's a good insurance for the health of your fish.

About to start my 75g Fowlr

Sounds like a good plan!!! $3.99 is quite a decent price for LR from any LFS.. The closest LFS to me is $14.99/lb. I bought mine online. I was going to recommend getting some Dry rock but at $3.99/lb you might as well go all Live. Anyway.. to answer your last Q.. Adding the shrimp is still...

    Unknowingly barbaric tankowner!

Oh yeah.. the Waterchange part of your question: Water changes are essential to keeping a healthy system. They are VERY simple to perform. For a 46G setup.. Just get 2 5gallon pails. Take 5 gallons of RO water, add Marine Salt until you reach the Gravity needed (1.024 in my case), stick a...

    Unknowingly barbaric tankowner!

Wow..another LFS nightmare.. Just keep it up, read read read this forum and keep asking questions. The people on here have only you and your fish in mind when they give advice... No need for that expensive Salinity monitor All you need is a hydrometer or a refractometer (preferred). The...
