My fish - extreme closeups

Well done, guy! Saving 5 out of 20 - 30 pictures? Wow, I wish I could get near that – or take a picture half as good as yours.

    My new tank...

Thanks BenBomb. Early days yet, and the plants have yet to fill out, but I am not a scaper. Whatever comes up happily and easily is good for me... As long as helps keep the water clean, and provides loads of cover, me and me shrimps will be more than happy! Many of my tanks are far from...

    My new tank...

Thanks, Tank. At last..! I can do a direct link from the puter, but going through photobucket is always a nightmare on my brain/machine. *** If it lives and breathes I can keep it alive and probably reproduce it – but if it is in anyway electronic, I quickly start to realize what breeding...

    My new tank...

Sorry, I am so sick of trying to get a picture up on this site, I'm giving up on it. Life is too short for this sort of thing.

    New Endlers

These are my breeders – and boy do they do that good!. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v259/eclecticoldsod/010-1.jpg. I have never known if they were endlers or guppy/endlers. No one seem to agree one way or the other, but I don't care anymore – they satisfy me big time...

    Gr!! Snail problems!!!

Don't cut the middle out, that's the bit they like the best. And you can do it at anytime of day or night.

    Gr!! Snail problems!!!

Cucumber attracts all of my snails – Ram's horn, Apple, and MTS. As you can see from my first picture, they can't get enough of it..!

    Gr!! Snail problems!!!

Couldn't be simpler. Once a week I cut three inches from a fresh cucumber, trim off the skin, cut into thin ¼ inch slices, and just dump it into all my tanks [I do have an awful lot of tanks..!] All my fish eat it, all my shrimps eat it, and it is a total snail magnet...

    Gr!! Snail problems!!!

I am going to try adding a picture to prove my point. Even my fan shrimps get in on the act..!

    Gr!! Snail problems!!!

One slice of raw cucumber added in the evening and removed the next morning will drag out every tiny snail in your tank within weeks..! Or keep a tank of puffers – when twice a week is enough, or you will run short of food..!

    where is everyone?

Thanks, guys. The Over the Pond - EU & Beyond board just looked a bit empty to me since 2007 on first reading. I guess I'll find me way about in time. We Brits take some convincing since Europe became isolated just after the last ice age..!

    Freshwater Aegla.

Does anyone know where I could acquire some freshwater Aegla from? They are sometimes called freshwater squat lobsters. I would love to keep/breed some of these cool guys, but can't find any suppliers in the U.K.

    Splitting Anubias Barteri

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the rhizome of Anubias leaches something poisonous into the water when first cut. But I can't find any reference to this, so ignore me, I'm probably just having a senior moment again.

    Hi guys, I'm new...

:n00b: An ex-zoologist, now retired – as much as a zoologist ever retires. A Fellow of the Zoologist Society of London, I have been at this lark for more years than I care to think about! After most of a lifetime, I have learned a fair bit, but never quite enough. That is why I am here – to...
