    Chaetomorpha Shedding?

In my experience Cheato can be rather fragile. Whenever I flip my Cheato there is always some shedding. It took awhile after I got it to really start growing but it is doing very well now. If it's not a large mass it may not be necessary to flip / roll it very often.

Does anyone here have a six-line wrasse?

I've had my sixline for several months now. I got him to help me with some pesky flatworms, which by the way he’s doing a great job. I haven’t actually seen him eatin’em but they are definitely under control. He parks himself into a rock crevasse and spends the night there. Early on I notice...

    Sponge?

While inspecting my tank the other day I notice some new members to the neighborhood. There are at least 12 of them and they measure 2 - 8mm. As far as I know they are only in the refugium, more precisely on the up flow side of the bubble trap. I hope they are nothing but sponges...but I do not...

It was 0 degrees here in nebraska when I got to work today...yea I had to work today...great-fun:mad: I have noticed that my wrasse is feeding on the mysis but he's very picky. I'm really not sure how he's gonna do. My Sixline Wrasse is a little pig...almost looks pregnant.

    Cleaner Wrasse survivablity?

Yes, that is the wrasse I have. Perhaps you're right about leaving it in alone. I'll let you know how it goes for me. The Wrasse disappeared for a couple of days...I thought it was a gonner.

    Cleaner Wrasse survivablity?

While in the LFS I purchases a Cleaner Wrasse. Once home I research the fish on the web and found that it is a difficult fish to keep. I usually do not make purchases on a whim and was surprised to find that the fish has problems with survivablity. My 75g w/30g sump/refug has been up a...

    Skimmer Question

I have a Coralife Skimmer 65, and I don't seem to be producing very much dark skimmate. Recently I was viewing the sump of another aquarist online and noticed that he had tilted the top of his coralife skimmer cup. Meaning that the lid was not fitted tightly to the cup but allow room at the...

    Micro bubble solution?

I was wondering...if of the reasons for the refugium is to provide a place where small creature can multiply and then supply my MT, will the filter pad I have floated on the refuge spillway block that migration? Oh and since my last post I have been able to move the Skimmer return back into...

    Too many Corals?

I am the proud owner of a 75G SW tank with a 30G sump/refug and a Coralife Skimmer. For lighting I have 2 actinics and 2 MH. When I first got into the hobby I did so because I love the color diversity of the fish but have since fallen for corals. Currently I have: 1 clown 2 chromis 1 hippo...

    Coral compatibility

I have a 75gal reef system and as it matures my coral are expanding. As they expand they grow and attach to adjacent LR which can make it difficult to relocate them. My question: as the coral grow they will likely come into contact will other corals and I wonder how compatible my coral. I...

    Feeding Brain

I fairly new to the art of SW, a little over a year and i'm loving it! I'm pretty conservative with my feeding and keep a close eye on the nitrates. I think that occasionally feeding our corals is not only good but a fun part of the hobby. But like anything, too much of a good thing can be...

    Some thing eating Live Rock?

It appears that something is eating my live rock. This piece is specifically a dead coral (Acropora) skeleton about 10" tall. I have attached an older picture of the specific rock. While using my turkey baster to blow off the rocks I noticed that a great deal of white debris came floating off...

    Feeding Brain

About 4 weeks ago I got a beautiful metalic open brain. I really want to care for it properly so I need to know if I am to feed the brain should I feed all three mouths or would one suffice?

    Wrasse in Weir

When I got back home he got pulled down one of the Durso Pipe ending up in the refug. Lucky guy...he's back in the tank. Thanx for your help.

    Wrasse in Weir

Hey y'all I need to pick your brains. My little sixline wrasse decided to explore the weir built into the back of my 75gal tank. One of the problems is that the weir is equipt with 2 Durso Pipes and this is making it impossible to net the little guy.:-? Any thoughts?

    Protein skimmate question.

I have a 75gal with a 30gal sump/refugium and a Coralife Protein Skimmer. I have had the system up and running for about 5 weeks now and my skimmate of the Coralife is pretty clear. I got up this morning and found that the skimmer was working overtime and had suddenly collected a lot of fluid...

making plans on transfering corals need help

Just last week I transferred from my 45 to my 75. I did all I could to insure that the temps and pH were compatible. I even cut my Colt Coral in three pieces as I tranferred it; but then again Colts are pretty hardy. One thing I did do was to transfer in some of my mushrooms and observed...

    Planaria Flat Worms

I had a small infestation about a month ago. I siphoned out as much as i could. The worms really liked my Mushrooms and Toadstools and so when ever the Toadstool retracted his tentacles I would siphon him good. I was also lucky because I found my Peppermint Shrimp had taken a liking to them as...
