How deep in the water does the pump have to be on the octopus line of skimmers? I only have around 8in of water in sump at max water level.

I have a guestion for everyone. I have a coralife super skimmer. It is using a needle wheel pump. The pump is starting to act up and not producing foam like it use to. my guestion is can I do away with the needle wheel and use a different type of pump? I placed the skimmer in my wet/dry filter...

Finally moved the protein skimmer under the tank, in it's new home. So far sump is working great. Lots more water flow and easyer to add an remove water. The fish also seem more active since there is lots more tank room now. I am using bioballs to start, there is some LR in the sump now to help...

Well moved some rocks around in the tank, put some small LR rubble around the base of the rock, seems to be working for now, lets hope he does'nt move to a new rock an start digging.lol

Well It has got worse, the lion fish was in QT yesterday and he died last night. I think he ate the Wrasse and it was to much for him to digest!! LionFish was inattive for two days and would'nt eat, this has never happend in the 2 1/2 years I have had him. So now I am out a Wrasse and a Lion...

No he did'nt jump out, I have class tops and plastic gaurd to seal the top, If the EEl has'nt been able to get out the wrasse should'nt either. Checked the sump and floor around tank no sign. I have'nt hooked up new overflow yet. I thought he was under the LR!! Been two days no sign
