I just recently bought some used mopani wood and rocks and it appears that the previous owner had some major problems with algae in their tank. They had decommissioned their tank about 2 years ago. The wood seems to be caked over in green and it quite possibly could have been cyano bacteria...
I have 2f/1m endler since May and finally decided to move them into my quarantine/breeding 15 gallon last night since one of the females was a bit plump... within a few hours she had popped out a couple fry and I now have 16 healthy fry schooling together in the tank. Too bad I hadn't done this...
So on a whim I decided I would like to see what an aquarium hobby is like... went out some time early March and bought a betta for work with a coworker who also picked one up and thought it was kinda neat so after a week I got the same little betta tank for home which sits at my home office...
