a hang-on refugium with a light on top of it works nice for macros. I even use a HOB with a clear top and a light and stuffed it with chaetomorpha on one of my SW tanks. (Aquaclear 500) kind of weird but works.

You gots cyano (cyanobacteria). Ditto what ReefRaff said... also one thing that helps with cyano is to use a phosphate sponge. cyano can be a pain in the butt. Aquacultured queen conch's will eat it too.. but that's about the only thing that will... yucky stuff 8)
