    Anemone

Ritteri was going to be my guess as well. I'm pretty positive it's not a sebae due to the lack of purple on the tips.

    Ritteri Anemone/H. Magnifica?

I'm just wondering if anyone has had or currently has this type of anemone. I had a beautiful Sebae in my tank that was thriving before the crash and am thinking about getting another anemone when everything is running perfectly again. I know that I can keep a healthy Sebae and the Ritteri...

    new maroon

Can you tell me how large the Maroon's will grow to be? I've been reading anything from 1-3 to 6-7. Seems like quite a big gap in information to me.

Can't keep snails / crabs alive

Sorry, but what does CBS stand for? I checked the acronyms but it's not listed there. Are you talking about the cleaner shrimp?

    Increasing KH?

Is this safe to do if there are fish and snails in the tank? Should I add it to my filter or directly to the main tank? Thanks so much for your help.

    Bio Balls?

I don't know if that's the exact brand, buy yeah, that's the stuff. I was told to remove it since my LR was doing the exact same thing. It came with my wet/dry filter. I can't find much information on it though. *Upon looking into the SIPORAX more I don't think it's the same thing. Mine are...

    Increasing KH?

Since the arrival of the new light I've been working hard to get my water parameters back to normal and remedy my neglect. In the past week through PWC's I've managed to get my nitrates from somewhere around 160 down to 35. Everything else was perfect except for the nitrate lvls. I did a full...

    Yellow head jawfish?

I don't know why glass wouldn't work. I actually had a glass cover on at the time, but he still found one of the only holes in the back for the heater cord. I've also heard that plastic egg crate will work or a diy screen cover. I honestly don't know what the major difference between them all...

    keeping sand clean

Nassarius snails are great for keeping your sand be clean. I think there are a few other types that will burrow in the sand, but I use Nassarius.

    Yellow head jawfish?

I had one for about half a year. He was actually my favorite little fish. Very shy, but super fun to watch him poke his head out of his hole. He dug a pretty deep hole so make sure there is enough sand for him. Also, I recommend having something over the top of your tank. I don't know if it's...

    Black Longspine Urchin

My brother had one for awhile and we would notice his spines would break from time to time, especially if he was bothered. I never saw them just fall out though.

    Bio Balls?

For the short term would it be better if I put the bio balls in the bottom container. There is currently sintered glass in there. I has someone suggest that I should remove the sintered glass. Would you advise the same?

Growth Rate of Green Star Polyps

@Bige How do you go about removing them? I was having a similar problem before my tank crash and was thinking about getting more, but I don't want them to overwhelm my tank again.

    Bio Balls?

OK, just a few more questions. Does it matter which container I put the LR rubble in? The bio balls are currently in the middle one that does not sit in the water. Should I switch it to the bottom one so that the LR rubble will sit in the water? How often should I rinse it off? Do I need any...

    Bio Balls?

Thanks. That is exactly what I was wondering. I got confused because it sounded like people were saying that the bio balls actually created nitrates. What you're saying is that they help the nitrogen cycle but leave out the last step. That makes a lot more sense. I have a lot of LR in my tank...

    Bio Balls?

I keep reading people say that bio balls are nitrate factories. Can someone explain why? I understand that they help convert amonia and nitrite into nitrate, so I'm wondering why they are frowned upon? I currently use them in my filter and am considering taking them out. All advice is greatly...

Yeah, I'm planning on eventually getting a quality skimmer, but the new light kind of sucked the aquarium fund dry. One step at a time.

    Live Sand Issues

The Nassarius snails are great for keeping your sandbed clean. They are tons of fun to watch crawl up out of the sand when you're feeding as well.

That's what I'm currently doing. When I first checked them the vial looked like I had just given blood. I've been doing pwc's every few days of about 20% and have gotten them down to around 40 ppm so it's definitely improving. I stuck a bag of nitrazorb in the filter as well to help get it under...
