IMO the only way you could consider getting away with it would be to use some really good reflectors like the Sunlight Supply Lumen Max reflectors, they cover a ridicolous area.

I super glue my power heads to glass magnet cleaners. They stay put and you can drag the power head around and place it where ever you want.

Agreed...but I'm not sure 10k's w/ two T5's would give me the color I want. I think I'm going to go w/ 2 phoenix 14K 250's and then add the T5's if necessary to get me more towards the 20k range.

Understood, I'm just stating what I've read on T5's lately. I was considering switching from halides to T5's so I've been reading up on them on RC. There are so many variable's involved, maybe the individual reflectors Borneman was using were not designed as well as the IceCap or Sunlight...

I'm going ot have to disagree with you here... individual parabolic reflectors out perform a flat reflector but a ridicolous amount. I can't find the link now but I belive Sun Light Supply did a test with a light meter a little while back and their individual parabolic reflectors increased...

Ok, here's what I"m thinking. Two Lumen Max 3 reflectors w/ 2x250w Ice Cap electronic ballasts. I'm trying to decide between Phoenix 14k, Ushio/BLV 14K or possibly the reeflux bulbs.... I will also be running 2x54w T-5's, not sure on which bulbs yet, depends on how my tank looks I guess.
