Ive gone through this before on other skimmers, but it only took 5-8 hours. What exactly does a break in period do to a skimmer anyways.

Well, 24hrs and no skimmate, guess Ill wait another 24 hrs.

Thanks larry, thats what I did. It seems to be working pretty good now. I always use paypal online so I filed a claim with them in case they dont supply a new impeller. Little things $39.95. Thanks again for all the help.

i figured out the problem. The pinwheel spins freely of the impeller. How can I lock the pinwheel so it spins with the impeller.

your right, the needlewheel seems to be doing a stop and go number. not making full revolutions. but nothings stopping it

its not even pumping water, it shouldnt need air for that should it.

started blowing then hooked it up to an airpump but its just blowing out big bubbles. Shouldnt it be chopping them

LOL I did the same thing at first until I felt stupid then decided to ask yall. Gues I wasnt to stupid. Let the blowing commence. Let you know the outcome if I dont hyperventilate

Just turned on my skimmer for the first time and the pump is creating no suction. Its running because the needlewheel impeeler is quite loud. But its not pushing much water or any air. Any thoughts.

Agree with thominil, you need a filter. In response to the "they live in it" comment. They live in it but the ocean is massive and can constantly dillute any pollutants that may be present. Sure the pollutants may be in higher concentration near shore, but the fresh salt water coming in is...

You can use the canister filter as a return pump or stand alone with a seperate return. Id suggest using the latter in case the canister fails or if it is known to need a lot of maintenance.

Well, I do enjoy my T5s. Dont know that I needed to mod it, just did it from stories I have read online. (Dont like Krispy Kreme either, bad after taste)

Just a word of caution I wouldnt buy odyssea MH. They have had a history of fires. Rumored to be repaired but who knows. I use their T5HOs and I had to mod it to be safe.
