    yellow shrimp

none of those look like yellows to me

    yellow shrimp

Yellow shrimp never appear red and don't have striping. The yellows may in fact be very clear from teh stress of shipping, but I have had them for 3 years and have never seen a reddish or a striped appearing yellow shrimp.

Whats the best freshwater planted aquarium substrate?

I am not a fan of flourite, i don't like the texture of the grains. I love eco and have had good luck. I have read alot lately about ada soil (specifically amazonia 2) breaking down to sludge and having to be careful about disrupting it. It also lets off ammonia for the first month. Another...

formally only 6, but have always had aquariums in the home. It just sort of took off when I became interested in breeding and importing invertebrates. The majority of my tanks (half of which I showed so far) are species tanks.

Explain Alkalinity, Hardness, and pH relationship to a newbie

I would just put the crushed coral in a media bag in your filter. I really think that using something like crushed coral over the seachem is a better idea. As far as buffering for invertebrates, you could also make plaster of paris pucks to buffer the water. Here is a recipe you can use to make...

Explain Alkalinity, Hardness, and pH relationship to a newbie

What does your source water test at for ph, kh, and gh?
  20. M

    Lowering aquarium pH

you could also trying mixing ro water with yoru tap. Do you know what your water's hardness is as that is really more relevant in determining what is comfortable for your shrimp. Typically tigers will live the range you seem to have, but breeding is often compromised with less young surviving.

    Pygmy corys

i have a dozen pygmeaus in my 10g, they are teeny tiny and a bit shy. tehy will use the entire water column however. Keep in mind, if you provide them ample hiding spaces they will use them to the fullest making them not very visible. edit: they are smaller than adult cherry shrimp if that...

    Cherry shrimp

temperature during shipping can also play a large role as can how they were packaged and handled.

    Amano Shrimp Questions

I agree, I have about 20 in my 75g with no issues even though the tank is well stocked with fish. They are busy busy shrimp constantly eating and cleaning but do not add much to the overall bioload. You can comfortably add many more if you desire.

Hello! Just branching out to see new sites. I have about 27 tanks running right now with a focus on planted invertebrate tanks, specifically dwarf shrimp, tylo snails, and nerite snails.
