"Hair" on saggitaria and brown spots on java fern (w/pics)

I tested my phosphates, and they are around .25 ppm, so I guess that's not the source of the problem. I also tested PH, and it was 6, compared to 7.2 a week ago. Maybe I just don't have enough plants ?

"Hair" on saggitaria and brown spots on java fern (w/pics)

Ideas for stocking my 10 gals

Thanks for your advice meegosh, you rock ! I really like the idea of getting corys, I guess it can help to keep my tank stable. But I read I need at least three if I want them to be happy. Will I be overstocking if i get 2 guppys, 6 neon and 3 small corys ? Thats looks like a little too much...

Ideas for stocking my 10 gals

My friend gave me a cute 10 gal planted tank, and my fishless cycle is almost done ! I've done some research on which fish to get, and i’ve seen all kinds of info. As schooling fish, i’d like to get neon tetras. Sometimes they say you need a 15g, sometimes 10g is ok, depending on where you get...

    Ammonia to use for cycling

I started to cycle my tank 1 week ago, and now i'm wondering if I'm using the right kind of ammonia. It was bought at an hardware store, as a household cleaner, and the container says it's perfume and fragrance free, so I thought it was safe. But now i'm afraid it has surfactants in it... And it...

    Not enough light for plants

Starting a new 33 gals. aquarium soon, and I decided to get it planted with low light plants(anaubia, java moss, maybe java fern). But I juste realized the top of my aquarium can only get one 24" fluo bulb, which gives me only 20 watts. That gets me 0,60 WPG, which is not enough according to...

Thanks for the info about filters... I think I have found something interesting in the craiglist equivalent in my area.. It's a 30 gallons, used for 1 year, including: furniture, heater, gravel, wood, decorations and background. But the filter included is a biolife wet dry. But the owner told...
