will a 6500k bulb seem brighter than 5000k?

What about the Zoomed ocean sun or the flora sun bulb? Would either of these be brighter and show off less yellows and more natural colors? Dan

will a 6500k bulb seem brighter than 5000k?

Now im totally confused. BillD says 5000K shows better color but mine is yellowish. Others say use 10000K..Others say 6500K will show more light. Maybe I should just put the tank on the balcony outside??? lol

Lighting question needs answer asap please

mfdrookie516, this is a show tank in the living room and all the shop lights I seen are ugly and it has to sit on top of the canopy. My tank and canopy are oak trim. I agree shop lights will do, but Im hoping the dual t5no should be enough for my needs.

How to light a 55 gallon blackwater tank and still grow plants?

I am in Canada, so it wouldnt be cost effective for me. I can get the Coralife Aqualight T5 for about $75. I;m more concerned about keeping the tea color water and gorwing plants without blinding the fish and losing the color of the water. Thanks

One more lighting question needs answer please

If I had a total of 56 watts of regular t5 lighting, how much would that amount equal in t8. RIght now I have a total of 36 watts of t8, if I went to the 56 watts of t5, what would be the equivalent in t8? How many watts would I gain? If I gather correct, 1 watt of t5 is not the same as 1...

    Lighting advise needed please

The reason I;m asking is that a hot5 system is twice the price of a regular t5. If I need two bulbs and a regular t5 double will do the trick, I would probably go tht route instead of a double hot5. Price difference from a single hot5 to a double hot5 is not much but still very expensive...

    Lighting advise needed please

SO BigJim are you saying for the plants I want to grow, a single T5ho is sufficient. I would find it a waste of money buying a hot5 and using only 1 bulb. WOuld not a double fixture regular t5 be as efficient and more cost effective? Thanks again, Dan

Keeping Sphagnum Peat in a cannister filter

Is there any issues with keeping peat in a cannister? How often would you have to change it? If kept in the trays, what level would be best. It would be a Rena XP3. Want to lower the ph for rams as well as to get the tea stain water color which I believe it will. The PH is about a neutral...
