    Whats this?

Lol I just looked at the picture and made my educated guess without reading what anyone else had said. I see that you mentioned the chiton now, good call. You also ended up saying it was most likely an isopod in the end of the same post

    Sick Tang

Okay I've got my fingers crossed... He hasn't gotten any worse in the last couple weeks but he hasn't seemed to get any better either...

    Sick Tang

Possibly but the pictures don't really look like what he's got... Maybe the pictures are just from really bad cases. He's in a 72 gallon tank and he's maybe 2-3 inches long

    Sick Tang

It's definitely not ich. It's like there's holes in the skin or something. And it's on the exact same spots on both sides of the face looks like the nasal cavity is on of the spots

    Whats this?

Look up something called a chiton. They come in different colors and sizes and I think they're a type of mollusc

    Sick Tang

Not sure what's wrong. He's had this for almost 3 weeks now. Developed a couple weeks after putting him in my tank. My readings are 0 across the bored and no other fish are sick. I'm still hoping it goes away on it's own, I don't like to medicate my tank. Anyone know what it might be? The spots...

    Diatoms...

Tanks a year old and I just added a bunch of live rock a few weeks ago and I'm assuming I went through a mini cycle because that's when the diatoms showed up. What else can I do on top of water changes to get rid of it for good? 72 g Fluval fx5 Reef octopus hob skimmer Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate .8

should lights be on during cycling?

Any more than that and you risk massive algae growth

should lights be on during cycling?

I like to leave them on for 4 hours a day during the cycle and scrape the coralline off some of my live rock so it can begin to spread through the tank and grow

    IM EXCITED!!!!! almost done??

I agree I've always thought that the cycle speed depends on the initial levels of ammonia introduced to the tank

My guy uses pantyhose to enclose rics and mushrooms to the rock you want it to attach to for a few days. But I suppose you could always use coral fix aka super glue.

my male clown seems to be pushing around some of the fish

You might want to bump to a bigger tank if you can afford it. Mating clowns can get super territorial... My female almost killed my yellow watchman last year and my tank is twice as big as yours with over a hundred lbs of live rock. My other fish all know to stay away from her now

    My new fx5...

My new fx5 is spewing micro bubbles all through my tank... Anybody have any ideas or solutions?

    Aiptasia or not?

I think it mostly depends on the size of the coral banded shrimp compared to the other inverts
  18. S

    Aiptasia or not?

They scavenge for the most part at night but will eat pretty much anything you feed your fish mysis, brine, pellets etc. They're good at fending for themselves and I have had very good results with them eating aptasia. And they should for the most part be good with your cleaner shrimp but the...

Yeah I'm friends with a guy that runs one of the aquarium shops in my area but he never orders any ricordias! The only other decent shop in the area that has them sells them for 25 a pop pretty much no matter how many you buy

The tank at Devon Fitness Club

Yeah I've been looking to pay around 10-12 a piece for a large multipack I just can't seem to find one. Any recommendations?

    Am I overtocked?

Exactly as you said though you had them since they were small so they were given a chance to grow into their comfort zones and territories and get familiar with each other and what not. There are always situations and circumstances were things work out especially when you're experienced and do...
