    Over cleaning, over feeding

Yes, agreed. I clean the tank every other month but I clean the media every month.

    Over cleaning, over feeding

When I started this hobby 7 years ago, I was diligent in checking parameters, feeding 3x a day but only what they eat within 1 minute, cleaning the tank once a week. Yet I was always scooping dead fish out of my tanks. Yes, I know certain rules must be adhered to. About 4 years into this...

    Over cleaning, over feeding

I've been keeping aquiriums for 7 years. This post is about things we've learned and preventing our own problems.

They're usually not that "bright blue" which is why I agree with you. It looks like a Maingano

They're both from the Melanochromis family. Hard to tell from the distance. This pic is a Male Auratus

    T.Moorii...No place to go!

That's what i wanted to read. I'm sure if a search long enough I'll find answers on both sides. But I'm starting to get feedback from other people saying they've been successful in keeping them. This fish has been in the tank for about 4 weeks, no issues.

    T.Moorii...No place to go!

Thanks. That's what I'm thinking too. I like watching this fish but the inner fish keeper in me is saying "bring him back." I watched a few videos on Youtube that displayed Labs and T.Moorii in the same tank. But no one ever says how it turned out.

    2 dead fish

2 Yellow Labs, what are the other tank mates? Most LFS keep pH at 7 and yours is 8, so my questions is, how did you acclimate the new fish?

    T.Moorii...No place to go!

Has anyone been successful in housing a single T.Moorii with some "mildly aggressive" Mbuna? I have a 150 gal Mbuna tank that’s stocked with 12 Yellow Lab, 12 P. Acei and a Bristlenose Plec. They all play nice. A friend purchased a single T.Moorii from a LFS and didn't realize what he was...

    Dwarf Puffer Dying...Old Age

Maxwellag, Life span for DP's is typically 2-4 years. My buddy who got me into DP's had life spans ranging from 2 years to one that lasted almost 8. Similar to humans it's only a general life span. Some of us reach 75-80 while others live to 95 and up. It's all in the genes. Sammy is...

    Dwarf Puffer Dying...Old Age

Not looking for any responses. Just wanted to write. My Dwarf Puffer, Sammy, is dying. No parasites, no disease, just old age. I've had him about 2 years and he was full grown when I got him. Their life span is about 2-4 years. He lives in a 10 gallon tank in my kitchen and we have...

    dwarf puffers?

I agree, 1 per tank. I've never had success keeping more than one DP in a 10 gal tank. I had a male and female in a 10 gal hoping for babies. That never happened, all they did was stalk each other and fight. Tried everything except some Barry White. DP's are definitely freshwater only!
