    Phosphate reactor or power filter?

Thanks, sorry bout the HX2 especially since you waited so long for it. I too was looking at that hot filter but wasn't sure about the size, thanks for clearing things up.

    Phosphate reactor or power filter?

I've just realized that my fluval canister is not necessary and it spits out microbubbles that drive me crazy, so I've turned it off and sold it on ebay. I have enought LR and LS to provide an effective biofilter and I use RO water to do pwc's and top off's so I'm not really worried about...

Update, things look good so far

Well it's been about 5 weeks now and things are really looking good, I had a bit of a green hair algae problem but it's subsiding now. All levels are good and I'm waiting for a new Warner Marine Hx2 skimmer to replace the prizm. I now have a small cuc, 1 green chromis, and a lawnmower blennie...

    Upgrading Skimmer ?'s

Well I guess I'll just have to get by with the prizm till it arives. At least they're in the country though, guess the new intel is that terrorists are trying to start jihad with protein skimmers :D

    Upgrading Skimmer ?'s

    Upgrading Skimmer ?'s

Thanks alot for the detailed response, I actually have already ordered the Warner Hx2 and it should be here soon, I made up my mind because of the fact that the Remora pump goes inside the tank and I just can't give up that much room. Your post realy solidified my decision. I hope we both have...

    Upgrading Skimmer ?'s

Hey guys, I'm going to upgrade my prizm for another HOB and I'm having a hard time choosing between a Reef Octopus or Aqua C Remora. I need something that provides surface skimming, is quiet, and doesn't produce a ton of microbubbles. I have a 45 Gallon FOWLR that actually has about 33 Gallons...

Here's what I've got so far

Oh yeah, since I put the snails in, acclimated by drip for 2 hours, I've noticed that 3 of the astrea snails have moved to the top of the tank at the water level, are they spawning, the third is happily eating the algae on the glass at the bottom.

Here's what I've got so far

Well my cycle ended over the weekend, ammonia and nitrite down to zero, nitrate was around 20ppm, changed 20 gallons of water, I have about 34 gallons in the tank, and added 2 peppermint shrimp, 4 astrea, 8 cerinth, and 15 nassarius snails, had an algae bloom and I hope to get it under control...

Here's what I've got so far

Well my light came in today and man what a difference, the tank looks great. I took you guy's advice and moved the rock around and made some bigger holes, looks pretty good although the water has alot of junk in it from moving the rock, my cheap skimmer is producing alot of microbubbles so I'll...

Here's what I've got so far

I know the plants are tacky and we'll be taking them out when we put the CUC in (just trying to make the wife happy), I didn't just throw the rocks in there, there are several holes that fish can swim through they're just not observable from the front angle. My plan was to cover the dry rock as...

Well my rock contact called me and I went and got another 16lbs of LR @ 7.50 a lb, it’s really good rock and these guys work out of their garage where they have 1200 gallons of water with livestock, rock, etc. They do really good work on residential and commercial jobs, their website is Aquarium...

Here's what I've got so far

Thanks, I bought the last koralia the LFS had the other day so I'm waiting for another to come in, today I decided to go with a Fluval 205 canister, then got me 4 nice little pieces of LR from the LFS, too expensive to get any more my connection didn't call me back yet so I figured these 4 1lb...

Here's what I've got so far

Thanks guys, it seems like having the rock on the back of the glass really helps support the structure overall, the water is clearing up and I've changed the rock a little, heading out today to get my HOB, some live rock, testing supplies, and a couple of shrimp, wish me luck:-P I'll probably...

Here's what I've got so far

Thanks guys, I think I might get a HOB just to turn the water over more, don't think it will hurt. Also, I've heard not to let the rock touch the back of the glass but it seems pretty much impossible for me to do that cause of the narrowness of my tank, any suggestions on this.
