Diatom Algae

Tank UpDate :).. i started growing green algae and i am starting to see alot of hitchhikers again. pictures coming later on today.

did you cycle the tank?

everything seem to be fine. i my clowns swim along with the damsels now and sometimes my royal gramma joins the fun :)

i use a bottle that has a little tiny hole in it that drips maybe a couple small drips per second lol.. pretty cheap :)...

okay. lol i just think its funny because usually damsels attack things that are smaller than them and the clowns are pretty small lol.. oh well atleast the damsels are not messing with them. because i was told by everyone they will mess with my fishes but they are really harmless lol.

do you think a clown fish is capable of killing a yellow tail damsel? my clown fish is attacking my damsel lol.

my fishies are very healthy as far as i can see. no nip tails so far and my clean up crew is beautifully working :)... my turbo is the best!..

yeah do what austindad says. after your cycle is completed then youll need to do a major 30% Water change then youll be slaving that for weeks on end :)..

cardinals are nice fishes i myself have a spotted cardinal :)

just keep an eye on it.. the royal gramma made my damsel like less aggressive lol.

thanks for the advice guys :) i went to my local fish store and they was selling cleaner shrimps for 15$ each :).. i might pick up 2. and alot of other goodies.

i heard brittle stars die easily i know i have some in my tank but they disappear. forever lol. they hide under my rocks. would 3-4 shrimp be too much? and 8 snails and 4 crabs? should i buy extra shells also? due to the crabs killing each other?

i left my lights on during cycling so i can have a quick look at my rocks and maybe find some hitchhikers but you can totally just leave it off during the cycling.. but your timer looks good. i usually just turn on my lights whenever i wake up 7-10am and turn it off around 7-10pm then moonlight...

thanks for the comment. austindad. i understand the damsels are a bit aggresive.. and yeah hopefully my damsels are not crazy lol. will it be okay to add some cleaner shrimp and snails or crabs to the tank? whats better crabs or snails?

yeah i go on the same website to learn more about the fishies.. the damsels was not my idea but hey i like em. yeah i know the cardinal is nocturnal but he/she comes out whenever i feed :) its a great fish to look at. the damsels are very nice in the tank so far.. hopefully they will be still...

what type of aquascape is your tank? is there enough hiding places? and size of tank?

starting to have brown algae in the tank :(... its diatom i believe?.. will reducing light help kill them? and a water change ever so often?

i went to the fish store and bought 3 fishes lol.. my sister wanted two yellow tail damsels because she tought it was beautiful and not because it was cheap :).. im sure i can handle it.. and we also bought a spotted cardinal fish because its one of my most favorite. i love the tri color :) all...

Rearranged the rocks again for the last time i hope.. i believe my cycle is done :o!!!! 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 17-20 nitrate.. 1.024 Salinity 8.2 PH pics are all taken from iphone. i might just add 1 fish for now to see how it goes :)
