    Tank is cycled, up and running with a couple fish now. No filter for a few more hours though because my stupid rabbit chewed the cord and shorted it out, so I have to buy a new one.

    Cloudy glass lid advice

    Like blueiz I also use a razor blade, put the canopy nin the sink and put a fresh razor blade on, I find it makes it very easy to do if you have warm water running on the glass while you are doing it. I turned my alomost white glass canopy back to crystal clear in 10min.

    Currently I have my 2 jack Dempseys in a 29g, I am upgrading to a 55g, which is saltwater right now, and those fish are going in to my 70g. I need ideas for a filter, heater, and substrate. I am not using sand however because I cannot stand it. What should I use?

    20% is good, if your skimmer has carbon or something then you probably should change it

    Do a water change, you may want to add a tiny bit more LR, and throw in a pump for circulation if you dont already have one, and what kind of filter do you have?

    go for aquaclear, I have had all of the filters you have listed above, and the aquaclears are easiest to maintinance, clean the best, and are cheaper to operate.
