    Found some wormy things

I recently found some dark colored worms in my tank on the hood glass. I’ve found about 6 of them there now, varying in size. Largest one has been just shy of a centimeter. Any idea what they are and how to treat? Here’s a video: https://youtu.be/F1qo_sQ3PwA

small white lines in fw tanks

I'm seeing little white lines on the glass and in the gravel of my tank. My two guesses: blood worms or snails. They're all over the place right now. Ideas? Tips on getting rid of them? Each line is very fine and about 1/2 cm long. Thanks! -Jessica.

    Coloring Baby Goldfish

A friend just have me several goldfish that were born while she had her pond fish inside last winter. The parents are those cheap, 25-cent feeder goldfish, but all the adults were orange, white, black, or a combination of those. All the babies are silver. Is there something I can/should do to...

Blood worms populating; want them out.

I have a 16g guppy tank and gave them live blood worms one time, because I had some left over from feeding a fire eel in another tank. It's been a couple of weeks since then. I went to do a PWC and vacuum out my gravel, and BLOOD WORMS EVERYWHERE!! Any suggestions on how to get rid of them? I...

If I put brine shrimp into a tank, but there's nothing in there that will eat them, will they just reproduce like crazy and take over the tank?

    I sliced up a mushroom.

I read that, in order to expedite the multiplication of mushroom corals, you basically slice them up. Here's what I read: You cut it from the very bottom of the foot so there's a thin disc left. Then, you cut it into slices, each piece containing part of the "stem." Then place it in LR so it can...

    Lighting for zoas & mushrooms

Everyone seems to be asking about lighting recently, and I'm no exception. Will LED lights support zoas and mushrooms? I'm going to have a dwarf seahorse tank, and those are the two corals I've decided to go with. I just don't know about lighting. I'm considering this, but I want to know first...

Is this shrimp compatible with dwarf seahorses?

I have a tank set up for some dwarf seahorses. I ordered my clean-up crew online, but I didn't get exactly what I'd ordered. In lieu of 3 sexy shrimp, I received 3 white-spot anemone shrimp. I've had sexy shrimp before, and I loved them. Of course, the company from which I ordered the shrimp...

Training a mandarin to eat frozen

I have successfully kept a mandarin in this tank for about 2 years before (he jumped :(). I never gave him anything supplemental; he just ate the copepods that were in there and lived a fat and happy life. I recently rescued a STARVING mandarin from the lfs, and he isn't picking the rocks for...

Cycling--brown algae. Do I remove it?

I'm about 2 1/2 weeks into cycling my tank, and I've had brown algae for about a week now on EVERYTHING. I've taken it off the glass and rubbed it off of some shells. Should I get rid of it, or will it go away on its own? Thanks, everyone.

    Tiny lines in my tank?

My tank is currently cycling with live rock. I have the brown algae bloom in full effect right now (not crazy about it, but I know it's just what'll happen). This morning I woke up to find lots of tiny line-looking things in the tank. Any idea what they are? Are they good/bad? Any help would be...

    Anorexic Figure 8 Puffer. Help!

I have three Figure 8 puffers in my tank, and two have these big, round bellies, which is healthy for them. The third had one a while ago, but he's SO scrawny now! I've fed him flake food, blood worms (live and frozen), black worms, pellet food, etc.--I've tried a lot of different types of...

My sexy shrimp is looking green

This will be a 10g dwarf seahorse species tank. My tank is currently cycling. I've had about 12 pounds of LR in there about a week now, adding a piece of raw shrimp every 2-3 days for ammonia. Yesterday I added 3 astrea snails and 3 sexy shrimp and 2 types of macro algae to the setup. The snails...

    New to planted tanks--please help.

I want to start a 10-gallon freshwater planted tank (small, I know, but I'm not allowed to get another big tank). I've never done a planted setup, and I don't know exactly what goes into it. The hood that is currently on it contains the light, so I'm hoping to either get some low-light...

Fire eel climbs into filter. Any suggestions?

My fire eel keeps going into the water output--between the cartridge and the filter wall where the water spills out. It makes me nervous having him in there, regardless of whether he likes it or not. I've taken about an inch of water out of the tank so the water line is below where the...
