    Bristle worm...good guy or bad?

i agree- bebeficial. I would remove one if it was say 4-5" long but other than that i would leave it alone. Things are there for a reason.

White oil like on top of water?????

it is most prob organics and stuff floating to the surface. The danger here is it will inhibit oxygen exchange and in extreme cases can change the spectrum of lighting passing through it. You can easily get rid of it with an overflow box or by directing a powerhead at the surface at an angle.

I need some info on my Xenia

Agreed, it is just upset. How did you acclimate it? Trust me once it recovers in a few days it grows like a weed. You'll need to start reading up on how to cut it back.

    Need Some lighting Help

it will prob be consiredably over $200 but it is necessary if you want to keep SPS. Try these links http://www.championlighting.com/e/env/0001CkD4MhStO5QfT03J6D6/Products/products.html?link=/Products/Lighting/lighting.html http://www.aquariumlight.com/product_info.asp?dbid=311

    Red slime algae

Reefrunner covered it, if you can measure any inorganic phosphate then rest assured your organic phosphates are considerably higher. You might try a phosphate sponge, but i think you will not get rid of this problem until you go with RO/DI water. HTH

4 Stripe damsel ok with this?

If you are considering a damsel later on and some clowns, I would add the clowns first and let them get settled and then add the damsel. Another thing you can do is move some rocks around to break up their "home turf". Thats puts everyone on an even playing field.

Not sure what this is on the LR

you can also make a paste out of Kalk and RO water and smear it in the aptasia- will kill it in a day or so. HTH

Alk, PH and Calcium AGAIN! Let me see if I understand this..

i think your levels are fine. I wouldnt rely so much on the "correct" levels. PH 7.9/Alk 4.?/Ca 460-- sounds pretty good to me. How do your animals look? That is usually a better methodology than just trying to reach some magical numbers. Of course if you are way out of whack then you need...

    cycling a new tank

i recommend going uncured and curing it in the tank. This way you are in control of hitchhikers, etc. remember if there is anything they can sell on the LR at a LFS they will remove it, and therefore you wont have it.

fast worms in LR leaving piles of powdery grey stuff

First time salty needs ideas and suggestions for 30gal tall

Clowns would be fine in there. Also you could get a few cardinals- they will school together and stay out in the open much of the time. Green chromis would also be in the same category. I have a personal liking of blennies, Midas in particular. Of course you would have to choose your crabs...

    Soft Coral Additives and care

I recently had a situation where my 2 part additive (ocean's blend)could no longer boost my calcium levels above 320. I had increased dosage to the max recommended daily on the container. I spoke with some experienced reefers and they had seen this happen before. I switched to kalk, and all...
