    Oh..and...55gal lighting

    Now that I have this 55gal to use as well, I am curious on lighting for it. What would you use as minimum lighting for a 55gal reef? I know the next question will be - well that depends on what you keep in it - I'm not exactly sure yet, but let's just say that I won't, for a long long time...

    What in the world?

    I was reading a few days back that someone had glued their corals and stuff in place....so they wouldn't move around. Is that..okay? It seems so...cruel and mean. :( Poor babies.

    Question on Glass Tanks

    I've never tested the strength of glass....but... I have a 55 gal tank with stand, the stand is not solid at the top, it's like...a frame and the fish tank sits into it perfectly but the bottom of the tank is open to the air, if that makes sense? I mean, it has no support other than the frame...

    These might be stupid questions...but... Is it "okay" to set up a tank (which will eventually be a reef tank) and have it running with just the live sand and/or live rock for awhile? I mean...as in...just allowing the sand and rock to grow and cultivate for months before adding fish. Or will...

    How much would you pay for a 55 gal tank w/stand? I've been searching around out of curiousity and the prices seem to jump around all over the place, I can't seem to find a common number. Any ideas of a basic price range? What would you consider to be a good deal?
