Dumbest thing done during a water change?!?!?

I worked at a pet store where my boss lived in the basement. I overfilled a 75g right above his bed. Yeah I got sentenced to clipping bird wings the next day. It hurt.

More bad news. Does he have a chance?

Like I said, Garlic Guard should stimulate his apetite making him eat.

More bad news. Does he have a chance?

Hey bud, I would check out SeaChem's Metranidazole, I worked at a LFS, and used this product alot and sold it alot and had good results from customers on it I might also recommend Garlic Guard. Soak your food in a mixture of the dose of Metranidazole and Garlic Guard, the garlic should stimulate...

    Shrimp with Fish?

Yeah, that makes sense, I'll definitely give it a try with a couple RCS since they go for a buck around here, CRS are like 5 a piece or more so I won't do that. We'll see though! Thanks!

    Phillipsburg NJ

I used to work there and I couldn't take not being able to tell all the customers that A python and Regular water changes and some prime would solve about 98% of their problems. So I didn't show up anymore. He even stopped ordering pythons because I was selling too many even though he charged...

    Shrimp with Fish?

Hey everyone! Here's my question for the next week or two: Have any of you ever kept RCS or CRS in your community tank successfully? I tried about a year ago but my Gold Barbs tore them to nothing. I just got rid of them to an LFS yesterday, and I'd like to try again, but I'm worried I'm going...

Stay out of the PET STOP. it's a store bent on ripping off it's customers. But I would recommend going down to Hackettstown Pet on Main Street, they have excellent prices and will order in anything you'd like, as long as their suppliers carry it.

    power head as diffuser

Maybe not, but mine does, I always find him fighting against my filter outflow before feeding time.

    power head as diffuser

My Betta absolutely loves the current in my tank. Who said they aren't strong swimmers. Haha.
  11. I

    power head as diffuser

Don't worry about that, the strong current is what is supposed to break up the bubbles.

    power head as diffuser

Take the other tubing you have hooked in there now out and hook the tubing from your c02 canister to the air inlet on the power head, and it will shoot those bubbles efficiently. Put the Power Head as far down to the bottom of the tank as you can without it sucking up the substrate, and your done.

    power head as diffuser

The bubbles get shot out so fast that they separate into many smaller bubbles. The smaller the bubbles, the quicker they will diffuse before escaping at the surface. That is the goal of using a power head as a diffuser.

    Star Grass - Help !!!

Co2 and ferts will solve your problem, since they get most of their nutrients through the water column, and aren't big root feeders. SeaChem Plant tabs will help a little bit though, I personally like to use them under every plant in my tank.

Going to be restocking once my new light and filter are ready to go! More rainbows and more Congos!

    And I'm back!

Thanks a lot! I'm going to start doing some real posts now haha. I'm already looking at a couple different fixtures and a new co2 diffuser. Can't wait.

    And I'm back!

Hey everyone, it's been a long time since I've logged in! A lot has happened since last summer, I moved out of my parents and into a new apartment, and have been incredibly busy, and unfortunately lost touch with my Aquatic friends in the formerly luxurious 55g Planted Boe.Rainbow/Neon aquarium...

    Beer Tap Co2 system.

Hey everyone! Long time no see. I had a few questions about a pressurized Co2 system I'm acquiring from a friend who is retiring his beer tap (unfortunately). I have no pictures of it since I just saw it last night. The Co2 Regulator is a standard regulator, with no built in Bubble Counter. I...

    Neon Tetra Problem!

I wouldn't recommend putting him in that container. The ammonia will build up and kill him quicker then the bloating will.

    Pictus Accident?

I'm personally glad you fell that way about your fish :) I mean they are bought from pet stores, so treat them like pets is how I've always felt.

    General water change rules?

Good to hear! And you'll notice the fish will appear more relaxed after the water change as well, which is my favorite part of water changes ;)

    General water change rules?

You will not be disrupting the nitrogen cycle by changing water. Gravel vacuuming too frequently can pose a bit of a threat, but mainly all of your beneficial bacteria is in the filter media, changing that is what is going to cause an ammonia/nitrite spike. Water changes will not harm your...

    Dry Ferts?

That helped so much, thank you! I'm running a 55g with a 2 bulb T5HO fixture with 2 6700k bulbs, and DIY Co2. I only have half of my tank planted, but I have good growth, I also have good green fuzz algae so I need consistent ferts to help get rid of this algae, I can't keep up with the price of...
