This looks like a small Haliotis or abalone snail to me. They also come out at night and are herbivores. Young snails are hard to give a species name to because as they mature their color and shape can alter.
What you have there my friend is Conus abbreviatus. It is found in Hawaii and surrounding geographic islands.
