Are the blue lights better for coral, as opposed to blue and white lights? What are some of your thoughts on this?? Thanks for the info, I have an established 55gal.. and yes this forum has graetly helped me with issues...I went with Fiji live rock, some Branch rock, Plate rock, and dry rock with the other setup...I was wanting some really nice live rock other than the Fiji, everyone has that stuff!!!

Today I lucked out & found a 30gal. Octagon tank at a garage sale today for $40. Come home to set it up...Bought 20lbs. live Fiji sand, a 200GPH Marineland filter...I really want to get the BEST live rock available, I am guessing like 30lbs. or so...I want to go with a Seahorse tank, but really...

Seems as if my main pump for the filter system has slowed down dramatically from what it used to discharge? All my water levels are normal, just is not pumping out very much water into the filter box???

After some serious tank gazzing, me and the wife noticed 4 very small white starfish...Could anyone tell us what type these are they are really to small to take a pic of, but we have seen them all move...Also I think it is a brittle starfish, round body and ugly long legs, is this correct?? Yeah I have that Magnafloat thing that cleans the glass, and the Maroon clown does not like it, he actually picks at it when I clean...Maybe if issues arise in the future I will remove him, or maybe even trade or sell him...I hate to do that, he is a really dark nice looking Clown..

I am definately no genious, but all of these clownfish are the exact same size..There is no fighting at all in my tank..I would think they would grow at the same pace, and be basically the same size??They wouldn't learn to get along over time??They all actually stay in a school kind of, other...

Me and wife have noticed SEVERAL of these hairy worm looking things. What are they?? Also one of them has a body and six legs kinda like a starfish..Does anyone know what these are, and when I feed they all extend themselves from the rocks to grab the grub??

Why did you have to get rid of the Anemone? What if I bought maybe a Tomato Clown, they host these Anemone right?? I wonder if I could get credit at another LFS here for a trade maybe??

48" T5 HO lighting. It moved maybe a couple of inches from were I placed it when I bought it...Does that mean he likes the spot he is in or what??

I recently bought a sabea anemone, I also have 4 different types of clowns, Maroon, Clarkii, Ocellaris, & Black...Will one of these Clowns eventually host the Anemone?? The Maroon has been hosting a Zoa that I have had for a while, will he turn that one away & eventually host the Anemone, or...

I had another LFS come and do a water change and check everything out. He said it would be fine, he only changed 10 gals. I have also been using saltwater on my sump refills, he did advise using purified water..My salt content or whatever that is was way high..He said everything should be fine...

Well it definately cleared the red slime, I will do a huge water change tomorrow!!How many should I do???

I have like 8 different Zoas & Palys, all of these I have had for like 2 or 3 weeks now..I have noticed no new growth or spreading?? I thought these Corals grew very fast?? Or does it take time??

Just to add more info to maybe help you peeps out, with the skimmer on its lowest setting it only takes like 5 minutes to fill the canister..And when I turn it off the water clears up almost instantly?????????

I went to my LFS and told them about my red slime algea problem. They pointed me torward this Maracyn Medication & said to put 5 packs in the water. Well my skimmer doesnt like it for sure, it just keeps filling the skimmer canister up, and does not seem to clear the water up at all????Please...

It is a 55 gallon tank... Cleaner crew is 7 turbo snails, about 15 hermit crabs, 5 sand snails... I feed 2 times a day...Frozen Mysis shrimp, half a cube each feeding... I have not done a water change yet, will do very soon... Do I change the water in the tank, or the Sump??

These sand snails are just not cleaning the sand very good AT ALL??Do cucumbers help with Ditritus??Also I thought there was another Invert that helped with this??It is getting yucky at the bottom of my tank, and I need something that will clean it??Also what is the red stuff growing on my sand??

I was messin around and turned the skimmer up all the way, and water ran over the top, after adjusting back and forth I found a sweet spot maybe with good bubbles but not alot of water running over the top..Is it just prefrence on the adjustment, or the more the bubbles the better??I dont think...

I had 10 of these big Turbo snails that completely demolished the algea issue..Now I have put 4 of them in my sump, I figure this is OK??Will I have to feed them since they are not in the tank??Is this even a good idea??I bought 10 to get a grip on algea, but I did want to kind of leave some in...

Well changed to the frozen Brine food, they eat it. And yeah I don't think I will feed the Zoas, but the online ppl I bought them from did recommend Marine snow, they said it is a natural snow that falls from the ocean, fish & coral benifit from it I suppose??And the maroon clown is doing fine...

So maybe try the pellets then?? The LFS I bought them from said I should get the flakes, said that is what they use..Any info on the Marine Snow and direct feeding??
