Something is growing in my tank - shrimp & scorpio looking creature ?!?!?!

I know the situation about the fish.... I'm planning a much bigger tank very soon, so the fish will find a better place eventually. :) but where that thing came from? Did it just grow out of nowhere in my tank? the black one with clam is definitely not mantis shrimp, it has large clams...

Something is growing in my tank - shrimp & scorpio looking creature ?!?!?!

I had the issue with too many copepods a while ago, now they have almost disappeared off the tank wall, but still visible on the LR and sand, and they are much bigger now. I was just looking around my tank, I noticed ALOT of shrimp like looking creatures moving FAST around dark areas, they...

Good to know! Paying a visit to the LFS this weekend! I was just so worried because they look gross when there's a mass of them crawling on my tank. My algae problem has been gone, do those things eat algae?

HELP! Lots of maggots like / "micro bugs" like things on tank wall and in water!

the closest that matches those are "copepods", but i can't really see if they have legs or tails on them, they are just too small. there's also a star looking thing on the glass, it kind of matches "ASTERINA STARS", it just appeared recently. i have 1 clown, 1 blue tang, 1 box fish and some...

HELP! Lots of maggots like / "micro bugs" like things on tank wall and in water!

So it's ok to leave them like that? The water is so cloudy now because of these things. What causes these things to grow all of a sudden?

HELP! Lots of maggots like / "micro bugs" like things on tank wall and in water!

not sure if they are copepods, i have never seen this kind of creature in my tanks before. they are about ~1-2mm in length, very very small. smaller than ants. i have to look real close to the tank to see they are actually "live", at first i thought it was just some white spots on my tank...

HELP! Lots of maggots like / "micro bugs" like things on tank wall and in water! Brown algae then green, is it ok?

I just came home and did another test on my tank, here are the results ammonia 0 / nitrate 0 / nitrite 0 Yes i used the correct color charts for fresh and salt, fresh water result was bright clear yellow. and for the tank water, it's kind of dark yellow creamy looking, not as clear. so i...

Brown algae then green, is it ok?

Ok i just tested my RO filtered water with the API kit, it appears brown yellow so the test kit is accurate. but that's freshwater straight out of my RO filter system. not sure what happens when i mix salt with it. could be the API isn't good for saltwater?

Brown algae then green, is it ok?

thanks for the comments. out of curiosity, i just tested ammonia for my tank water and new saltwater bought from LFS, they both appear to be the same color - light greenish yellow. for 0 reading it should be brown yellow. How can new water contain ammonia? I'm using the API test kit which...

Brown algae then green, is it ok?

I'm using the API 5 in 1 test strip, and the API liquid one for ammonia. I just did another test today, nitrate and nitrite readings are 0.5 and 20ppm, the color is really hard to tell, it's more like between 0 - 0.5 and 0-20. PH is 8.5. I didn't take any ammo test today as i was rushing...

Brown algae then green, is it ok?

So i should keep the green algae on the tank wall for now? i cycled my tank for 2 weeks, since I used ocean water and the tank was actually running before, I decided it should be "ok" after i did the tests. it began to grow back like in one day after i cleaned the tank, I even did 20% PWC...

Brown algae then green, is it ok?

My tank started growing some brown algae on the sand and tank walls last week, so I scraped them off while doing a pwc. Now I have green algae on my tank and live rocks, they are ugly! I cleaned the wall again but left the rocks alone to the hermit crabs. What's causing the algae to grow from...

Micro bubbles in nano cube 28g?

Anyone with 28g nano cube have problems with micro bubbles? The two power head nozzles shoot out tiny micro bubbles every few seconds, it's so annoying. My water level is not low at all, both pumps are well submerged. My most outer(pump) chambers are about half way full. I noticed if I turn off...
