Cool Beans, that worked. I left the window unit on low at 76 degrees. Turned a fan on, raised the glass lids and went to work. came home and tank was at 79-80. so I lowered the heater to 77-78, tomarrow I will see if I can keep my buddies at a comfy temp. Thanks all for input.

No I have a 48 inch light that takes two 24 inch bulbs. I bought them and put them in. no different than buying bulbs at lfs. sorry for the misleading, I got the bulbs at home depot. not new lights. ( bucks for both of them.) same bulbs at lfs they want 3 times as much.

all I use is fertilizer tabs every other month. One thing with heavily planted tanks, got to watch the water changes. That removes the co2, and gives way to algea. I do not use co2 cannisters. I lightly gravel vac only, no deep gravel vacs, poo helps the plants grow. I just down loaded photoes...

It is legal, My best friend is a retired fed. and did alot of diving when he lived in florida. He kept a 500 gallon aquarium, and he would always dive and catch different species and keep them.

You said you had a fifty foot hose attached to you python? You could try a shorter hose. Water is 8 lbs a gallon, and that would reduce the weight of water you are pulling to match you water pressure
