    Coraline question

there is a bunch on the back of my turbo snail, and a little on the live rock i put in there when cycling but I haven't seen any appearing anywhere else. Would adding purple up(lfs told me about it but I want to do some research and get opinions before using it) be advisable?

    Coraline question

Excellent article!!! I did add a small piece or live rock that has coraline on it, but maybe ill add another small piece and wait more... When they talk about seeding the tank i assume it means just putting the rock in and letting the flow do the rest? Am i correct in thinking that?

    Coraline question

My 14g biocube has been up and running for about a month and a half now and all the tests are looking good, 0 ammonia, 0 trites, about 5 trates, 8.4ph, & 1.023 salinity. However, i am seeing absolutely no coraline anywhere on the tank. I started out with about 15lbs of base rock and added a...

    Biocube temp problem

I would leave them out as it means u wont have to take them out all the time to clean them, but its your choice... Clean the sponges... Clean everything, thoroughly!!! And i think the little plug ur holding in the last pic is for the night lights, but my tank is a newer model and i dont have...

    Biocube temp problem

The first pic looks like the power attachment to the ballasts... They should have the wall plug on the other end... If not, find the power end and it should connect to the parts in the first picture. That is the right scrub brush, at least that i have used, but it looks like the tank is still...

    Biocube temp problem

If it is 3 years old, it will probably be the unit with the individual ballasts... At this point they may or may not be bad. They are pretty much plug and play so try that first. As far as cleaning, dont use any soaps... I use warm water and a new green brillow(not steal wool!!!) pad that has...

    3rd week cycling... Readings???

Thank you Carey!!! The ppl at my lfs said its a must have for all saltwater tanks and i was a little skeptical... Is it recommended to remove all non live rock filters during a pwc and rinse them?

    3rd week cycling... Readings???

Would a bag of chemipure (pro) do anything to help keep ammonia, trates, and trites down long term, or is that a ploy by my LFS to sell me stuff I don't really need?

    3rd week cycling... Readings???

I only plan on having a fire fish, a black clown, and maybe a bi-color blennie in the tank, but being as its only 14g minus rocks roughly 10g, i font want to act too fast and harm any of the animals...

    3rd week cycling... Readings???

Bought new ones that should arrive tomorrow or wednesday and i can test from there out knowing the tests are reliable... 3rd week cycling... Readings???

When should i start doing water changes, cleanings, and the while nine yards? Starting to see some color on the base rock, not much purple, but a light spot starting here and there, and some coloration, what looks like diatoms starting to die off...

    3rd week cycling... Readings???

I didnt know any of that, but i also didnt intend on using and chemicals, other than testing purposes, in my tank... Id rather have less work to do ultimately, meaning less dosings etc., in the ling run. So if pwcs do the trick, i am ok w doing 10-20% changes weekly as opposed to putting...
