    Impatient!!!

Some are picky I dont know though! I feed mine bloodworms and snails. Also ghost shrimp but the dwarf puffer doesnt touch them. The SAP loves them lol. I'm really not sure what to do besides trying different things. Maybe the water quality could be off and making him not want to eat. Try a 50%...

    TN Members post!

I need help--does anyone have experience trimming puffer teeth? I have a South American Puffer with overgrown teeth. I've messaged the Tennessee Aquarium, they are supposedly looking for a vet in my area that has experience. They told me to also contact the zoo. But do any of you know of anyone?

Petco and Petsmart are ok but not really knowledgable people. Aquatic Critter has people that have worked there for 20 years. Even have aligators on the reptile side. I remember another pet store in the boro it was near panera and old navy and walmart but I forgot the name, I think it went out...

    Impatient!!!

So adorable! I want another one really bad and just found out my lfs got some in. But I feel like I have too many fish in the tank already and they have all been there for years and are comfortable so I don't want to add more.

    Easiest fish to breed?

All I ever had to do was vacuum some water out and put it in another tank. Babies appeared. I just fed them fry food. Super easy lol.

    Water changing question

Hmm I didnt know that either but just read they do exist, there is even a you-tube video. Most are mislabeled as dwarves when they are actually clawed frogs though.

    Water changing question

Read the article. It tells you everything. Also if you don't have the money for the test kit you def dont have the money for more fish (or any fish). The test kit is a part of the well being of the fish. Don't impulse buy. Just looking out for the well being of the fish is all. Please dont...

    Cichlids went to shock...

Def not cycled. Don't rely on chemicals. Get the liquid test kit its not more than $20 (and if they are more, whatever its not bad, and if you cant afford that, dont own living animals haha ) and lasts forever. And worth it. Please read about the cycling process and you will further understand...

    Best freshwater schooling fish

Zebra danios. Not super pretty but super easy to care for and fun to watch! Also easy to breed, do a water change and keep that water--sure to have fry in it. I've raised many this way.

    what fish is this?

Piranhas are legal in TN. Not sure about other states. Why didn't you ask the people at the pet store what it was? I know a lot are just hs kids working hourly but I'm sure someone could have answered.

    Blue Lobster

Also neons and zebra danios are schooling fish and will not be completely happy or in their prime unless you put them in a group of 6 or more. Just another thought.

    Blue Lobster

I do know the neons I have owned lose their color and drop to the bottom at night. good luck with them and him. Danios are active and swim at the top so may be ok. If everyone is in constant stress or danger though I don't view it as a good plan. Just me.

    Hello

Don't you love all the people that didn't even read your post to even try to help? It seems to always be a "welcome to aa" post. generically. Sorry I'm all about welcoming someone, but make an effort on helping with their questions! Makes people feel much more comforted! Also your tank is too...

Hey! Go to Aquatic Critter on Nolensville pike for EVERYTHING. But Animal CIty in the boro also has good fish (and used to even have a walaby lol). My ex just took our yellow lab cichlids there because he moved :( But feel free to ask with questions--read about the cycling process--some of your...

Fresh to the fresh water family.

I did a fish in cycle 3 years ago. I didn't want to but came home and my bf at the time had put 4 tetras in the tank. They are still alive and well. And as far as exotic fish work, Mine aren't bad aside from one of the puffers teeth I have to trim. Mine are strictly freshwater (there are a lot...

Just got my first ten gallon tank.

Not from my experience. I've had a lot of them. If its not right in front of them they just do their own little thing. Next time I own one I'm buying the turkey baster and doing that idea. Not kidding they are tricky and I've NEVER seen them eat leftovers that were more than an hour old. Even 20...

    10 gallon tank

Zebras are a schooling fish and need more than 3 to thrive. Also they are super easy to breed.
  19. Tabbykat9698

    My 10 Gallon

Also neons are a schooling fish. Fine for a 10 gal but danios tend to be nippy and may stress the neons out. I suggest reading about what you want and can do and taking back what you cant handle. Everyone will be better and happier in the long run, including yourself.

    My 10 Gallon

I had zebra danios for years including breeding them and they can survive as well but are a schooling fish (6 or more) and are very active so a 10 gal may not be the best bet if other fish are in there. DO NOT put a blue lobster (blue crayfish actually) with anything else. I mean you can if you...

Welcome. We can give much better rules if you tell us about your tank!

Hahaha hence my signature. Just got a lot the other day. Now waiting for them to grow more. Have a high output light but a bulb went out. :( Other bulb is fine and seems to be enough, but I gotta replace it.

    anyone have bb puffers?

Guy I last talked to there was new, he had never seen a dwarf puffer. (I just talked about him, didnt bring the puffer in) and I was like um yeah I got him here. But there are employees who have worked there 20+ years who are very knowledgable they rarely have steered me wrong (tho I do research...
