They do not have adjustable flow rates, at least not that I can find. I would like to have floating plants and some RCS, so maybe I will try just using 1 canister. I only plan on having some community fish like neons, maybe some guppies, cories and such. Do you think the 1 would suffice?

i got quickrete pool filter sand from lowes and it works great! I dont know about the stuff you seen.

ya, the type of "floss" (lol) im using isn't in strips, its more like a ball of stuffing. I will try to find some of the other type and cut to fit. What do you guys recommend to replace the carbon filter with? I've read that most people say you don't need it unless you are giving meds.
