    Calling all Albertans!!

Use those heat packs you snap in the middle, place them in a cooler with the fish bags, make sure the fish/coral have lots of air in the bag and your good to go :D its easy, no different than shipping them across the country or even to the local fish stores.

    Calling all Albertans!!

You would be surprised, I have purchased a lot of things from Edmonton and driven them back to Calgary, even bought a few things in Lethbridge and transported them. Just know how to transport things and you will be fine :D

    Calling all Albertans!!

Golds is an Aquarium store located in SE Calgary, specialize in mostly freshwater fish but they do have some very nice SW fish. Personally I have been in the store many times and only bought twice. I never find great deals there and its far from my house. Some of the fish look great sometimes...

Not sure what this one is..

http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/2337/6ouw.jpg Just noticed this today in my tank its on a piece of rock that I have laying in the sand bed for years now, its been in all 3 of my tanks and never had anything on it before. In fact I think it was even in the sump for a while before I threw it...

    Cal/Mag/Alk Where to start?

Now that I have started to add a few SPS frags to my tank im wondering about checking Cal levels and how to go about raising them. I want it as simple and as easy as possible. I have never checked or dosed for Cal before, I do my water changes and have always had some good growth on my corals...

    Adding a Wrasse

With any wrasse? or only the bigger fairy/flasher wrasses?

    Adding a Wrasse

I want to add a second Wrasse to my 125gal tank. The problem being I already have a 6 line wrasse in the system. I have had the 6 line for 3+ years now and he has never shown aggression to any of my other fish even when he was in the smaller 40gal tank. He weaves in and out of the rocks and...

    Magma's 110gal Build

Right now I have 6 that are about 1" wide, 2 which are 6-8" and a few smaller ones in the 2-4" range so probably 12 nems...all because the wife really likes them

    Magma's 110gal Build

Yes I would say in his 90gal he had easily over 150 nems, ranging from the largest at 2ft wide to the smallest at about 1/2" wide. Most being the size of a baseball (3-4") the fish were doing great. It seems anytime he would put his hand in the tank the nem would split again lol it was great...

    Magma's 110gal Build

Thanks! I am happy I went with a shorter tank, its way easier for me to move coral and clean up when compared to taller tanks you almost need to climb into to work with. If i was to build another tank I would make the tank wider front to back. Those nems are all from the same person, he got...

    Magma's 110gal Build

Not doing anything really. My view of this hobby is keep it simple and cheap. I run GFO and Carbon (change them maybe once a month). Then 20-30gal water change every month as well. I also dose "purple up" once a week just to help the coralline grow and spread. Also added a WP40 wave maker...

    Magma's 110gal Build

Thanks we are happy about him, hes cute as hell. The wife is just happy I got the tank up and going before he arrived. Hopefully when hes a bit older he can help me out with doing water changes and feedings. Tanks is still far from anything special in my eyes, but maybe its because I see all...

    Magma's 110gal Build

August Update! I have been starting to grow an addiction to Zoa's...Reef Wonderland has not helped this new addiction because Angus is bringing in some awesome frags. I haven't noticed them growing much yet but I do notice they have really started to get deeper colours under my LED's. Its only...

    Magma's 110gal Build

Well it has been a few months so how about an update and some more pictures. The tank transfer was just a disaster most of my coral sucked up and fizzled away and now almost 3 months later the corals are just starting to open back and colour up. What a long road this has been. I upgraded my...

Lighting your reef... Best bang for your buck.

Wouldnt tell an electrician anything (yes I am one) we dont deal with programming, we can hook up a dimmable driver to them but to be honest building a control board and programming controllers is not an electricians scope of work. You should find an electronics guy who is familiar with diodes...

    Advice on transferring tanks?!

my advice is this because I just went from a 35gal to a 125gal. Dont move everything over at once! Setup the new tank, and cycle it then slowly move over some rock without coral and monitor the conditions for a week. Do this until you know the tank is stable then move everything over. I just...

onespot foxface in 50 or 55?

My foxface is easily 6" right now and eats a full nori sheet in a matter of a few hours just by picking at it randomly. My Yellow Eye Kole Tang and my Hippo Tang might touch the nori once a week and only when I soak it in garlic first. I had a yellow tang and he was small but his favorite...
