The first thing that came to mind was that maybe they don't have enough oxygen. Is your tank properly being aerated via filtration system or air stone?

Should I take the snail out of the tank? My betta has been ok so far with the other fish, if I see any problems with nipping I will definitely take him out. :)

How would too many fish cause my tank to have snails?

@chizerbunoi It's pretty new, a little over 2 weeks @reefdiver I have a 10 gallon, what is lfs?

P.S. I don't have live plants and I made sure to rinse my gravel before I put it in.
