    Caitlynn's 75 gallon reef build!

90's are 18" wide they're just 24" high instead of 20" like the 75. The longest I can go is 4 foot, so I've been looking into them myself:)

    Caitlynn's 75 gallon reef build!

Not sure on the deals, I just wanted to throw out that a 90 gallon is also a 4 foot tank. Bigger is always better!

    New Aquarium Stocking Help

I've never heard of a freshwater damsels, I'm interested in what it looks like. Also, what are your water parameters, I'd say if all your fish died then your tank is not cycled, and you'll want to look into fish-in cycling.

Could these test readings be the cause of koi and goldfish flashing.?

They are extremely dirty fish that put off a ton of waste. I have 3-3inch commons that I do 2-25% weekly water changes on. And that's with a canister, and a 55 gallon tank, which is still on the very small side for them. What types of goldfish do you have and how many? Again did you and how...

Could these test readings be the cause of koi and goldfish flashing.?

The high ammonia causes gills to burn, and would be your likely cause of flashing. I'd suggest a PWC to keep it in line until you figure out the source. How did you cycle? Have you added anything new lately? Has there been any deaths or die offs lately?

    Making a canister filter?

Just curious as to the running total, or at least an estimate. I would like to upgrade mine as well, and id like to know if this is more cost effective than CLing a used one.

    Xander's 46 Gallon Build?

DIY slate cave perhaps? I think your Otos might appreciate some good hiding places. But I really like the clean natural look so far, impressive!

    Betta Sororities

I had a 10 gallon with 5 females. I had two crowntails and 3 veiltails. They were all introduced at the same time, and one of the CTs took the lead role. This lasted 4 months, thing went haywire. Other females competed for alpha, then would settle. But within a couple days all we're completely...

Need Urgent Help!! Tank with turtles issue!

I have a yellow belly cooter and he can get pretty stinky. I use a canister filter and it's amazing! But if your stuck with the hang on then I'd try to add another, the general rule is cut filter rates in half. And being as it's a turtle tank, they are extremely dirty critters. As far as health...

    New Years Tank Resolutions

My goals include converting my betta tanks into fully planted tanks. Beginning a SW tank, which I'm already planning. I'm out of space where I live so no new tanks for my house, but I'd like to do equipment upgrades instead. And last but not least, no charging aquarium items, if the money isn't...

First Time 30 Gallon Reef Build:)

How does this sound: 1 marroon clown 1 orchid dottyback 1 indigo dottyback 1 type of goby? And be done:) I know they're fiesty but from what I've read these are the least aggressive species of the bunch.

First Time 30 Gallon Reef Build:)

I was thinking I needed a more aggressive clown if I went for the dottyback, something that can hold his own. Or is my train of thought completely wrong, and I really need something that backs down and runs? Whichever way what is the best clown cause I'm really leaning towards a dottyback, I...

First Time 30 Gallon Reef Build:)

So I've looked at thatpetplace, LA, ORA farms, and bluezoo aquatics. If anyone still has suggestions, by all means:) But these are what I have found, and would like some suggestions/critique on. Skunk clown Maroon Clown Neon blue goby Kauderns Cardinal Orchid Dottyback Rainfords Goby...

First Time 30 Gallon Reef Build:)

Well I suppose I can still plan:) I'm toying with the idea if doing a tank-bred only stock. This obviously limits my options to very few. It seems clowns, dottybacks, a few gobys, blennies, and some randoms are my choices. So I'm thinking this will probably end up being an understocked tanks. No...

First Time 30 Gallon Reef Build:)

Build paused:( Apparently I need tires, and it's about to be snow time. It's when I plan on spending money that things come up where I need it for something instead! At least it was before hand, not after I spent it all:)

First Time 30 Gallon Reef Build:)

Nix the last post. I'm going Friday to get 50 lbs live rock dirt cheap. The only problem is keeping it live! I'm thinking rubbermaid storage bin, and a cheap PH i have lying around. Does this sound about right? Will I need the heater and light as well?

First Time 30 Gallon Reef Build:)

Just checked reef cleaners out for dry rock, and 50lbs is on sale! So I always see everyone doing a part live part dry rock to cycle. If I cycled with only dry, really my only drawback is time, and I add ammonia and introduce coraline algae correct?

why do bettas bite their tail?

Bettas do eat their fina. Especially the half moons because there breed to have the longer fins. Its usually stress related, could be a new environment and it could be water quality. Answers to all the questions would be very helpful! Edit* also forgot to add that fin rot will be brownish and...

First Time 30 Gallon Reef Build:)

Not too awful much to update. I picked up the upgraded tank yesterday (55 gallon for 20$!). I plan on painting the back tonight. So really im still in the process of getting everything ready to move stuff around. I'd still like to know if 45lbs seems like too little for a 37? And also is the 4...
