No problem about the corals, I guess I'm a bit on edge today with what is going on in the news and having a 2 year old into everything so if I came across sharp I'm sorry. As far as the nitrates, the refugium has really helped us out and I'd say the large piece of Maiden's hair has helped too...

Well I don't know how we got onto corals or what salt you use or uv's, I just wanted to know peoples suggestions for placement of powerheads but I think we've got it worked out. If you want to go into corals, yep we have some, the hardy ones, we have a pipe organ coral that had about a quarter...

    big dumb question

Do you have any kind of photo program like Paint Shop Pro, or Photo shop? If you bring the image up under that then you can resize the pic, I usually do 640 x 480 which seems to work ok for me.

Nope we don't dose, infact the only additive we've ever added was was reef success Calcium, but our calcium has been around 500. We don't run a sump, it's only a 29 gallon, thought of it, but decided to do a hob fuge instead. Plan on checking the Calcium tonight to see what it's at. How...

    Water movement

Boy this has been our biggest struggle. We either have too much or not enough in some areas. We've been battling the red carpet syndrome on the sand, so we went with suggestions of putting a powerhead in the back right side on the bottom and one on the right side towards the top, and for...

    Bummed

Ours has always been at 8.2 never a flux in PH since we started, at first we thought it was in a wrong area and moved it to a better flow and not so close to the light, then it just started to break away. :(

Well tried fragging and cut out most of the bad parts, changed water, but it's still disintegrating no good parts left, do you think it could have been from a bristle worm? Our other leather is doing just fine, I just don't understand why this one died as fast as it did, it was my understanding...

Thanks to you all, plan on doing some water changes, and have been running the GAC too, not sure how much it can be saved, it was going ok for about 2 days after we got it and then went down hill from there, our main tank is doing so well I was afraid if it was a disease it would affect the...

    Bummed

Our green finger leather is dying, something has attacked the stalk and it is disinagrating, our main tank was turning a slight milky color, we ended up moving it to a tank we had cycled and hadn't decided what we wanted to put in there, it's only a 5 gallon, but the water is completely white...

Thank you, will move the leather to the bottom where there is a lot of flow, as for the sponge, I've never done anything like this before, suggestions on what to use to cut it with, I don't want to damage it any more than it already is. Thanks!

    Sick Green and Orange

Our Green Finger leather coral we bought a couple weeks ago and it's been drooping more and more each day, I've done as much reading as I can find on the net, my other leather went through a period but is back to being it's beautiful self, wish I could say the same for the Green finger though...

    Suggestions

Well the hermit we put in there seem to be doing a good job, see, we feed our pipe organ zooplankton and we usually turn off the ph's when we do , but we don't turn off the fuge pump so it seems to suck up some of the zooplankton and then it settles on the bottom, before we got the light I...

Sorry didn't think about pics, and because the tank sits in kind of a corner the best I can do with pics is through the tank, tried over but all you get is the light. :) It's a 12" HOB CPR refugium with a JBJ 11" compact fluorescent Clamp-on lamp, it really lite up the tank a little more by...
