    Quick question!

If it was glazed in the kiln, it should not be a problem. Pet shops even sell them. My daughter has one, and she likes the look of the shiny pink pot. If it is a cheap pot, with a lacquer coating and not actually glazed, then it should not go in.

HELP! Water getting cloudy with a green tint

Thank you - I will try to give as much as I have. It is a 29 gallon tank, with 5 Mollies, 3 Platies and a small common Pleco (about 2.5") The tank has cycled, and has been stable for two months. Ammonia levels are at zero/near zero. Nitrites are in the safe zone, Nitrates rarely above...

HELP! Water getting cloudy with a green tint

Three weeks ago, I started getting healthy algae growth, and bought a pleco. Everyone was happy... Algaewell controlled by the pleco, but he seemed hungry, and I fed him a couple of green peas. He eats them. Trouble is twofold - My PH started dropping, and the water is getting cloudy with a...

    black moor and golden loach

It is my understanding that fish "find their place" in a new tank when they are first introduced. It could just be determining which will be Alpha. So long as no damage is being done, you should be able to let it go overnight, and check int the morning. If things have not calmed down, or...

    Will

For the time being, I would either put the new fish in a separate tank or get a Plexiglas barrier in place as soon as possible - until more experienced folks give you better advice. Good luck!

    Pregnant Mollie?

How can I tell if a Silver Lyretail Mollie is pregnant? She seems quite fatter than she used to be, and she is eating voraciously. she also seems to be burrowing into the gravel on occasion, and is attacking my airlines. No other fish are behaving that way. The only male Mollie is a Black...

Fish feeding question - plus a hundred more :)

Seriously, I get a zillion different answers to this question from researching on my own, and from asking at the pet shop. The consistent response to how much is "How much they will eat in 3-5 minutes" and I am OK with that. What gets me is frequency - I have been told 3 times/day, 2...

    Aggressive Silver Lyretails

I did let the pleco go - snails can do the same job. I put the angel in my daughter's nearly empty tank. I intend to go with larger tanks as they grow - but just starting out again :)

    Aggressive Silver Lyretails

Hers is only 14 - but I figure from past experience it will be a year or more before he will be big enough to need an upgrade - he has been quite docile, and is sharing the tank with three little platies.

    Aggressive Silver Lyretails

My tank is a 20 gallon, with two Mollies, one platy, two tetras, a small angel, a cory, and a pleco. If the Mollies are going to continue to be a problem (but they are SO pretty!) I will move on to platies and send the mollies to a breeder... I need happy fishies...

What Made You Want A Freshwater Aquarium?

After my first year of marriage, my wife and I bought a small 10 gallon setup, undergravel system with a couple of angels, a pleco, swordtail, and a kissing fish. It was a good time in my life in general, and I remember transporting that tank from Colorado to Maryland on a battery powered...

    Aggressive Silver Lyretails

I joined this forum seeking a little help... I have a new aquarium, just a few weeks old, with a pair of serpae tetras (friendly, docile) a few Platies (again, friendly and docile) and two Mollies, one black and a silver lyretail. First mistake - I had two male Mollies (Why is it the folks at...
