Bp's are notoriously shy at first. I have 3 and when they where introduced into my tank they hid for a couple of months. I put sinking cichlid pellets in for them when the lights went of at night. Now they are first over to the glass begging for food, they even crowd to the corner of the glass...

Just wondering how many feed their fish garlic & how do they actually go about it lol......

Mine does the same.....I even tested the tap water & it was .25 also....

The female is always bigger & plumper than the male.....

I have a 20ltr in my sons bedroom, a 60ltr in my daughters bedroom, a 150ltr in the kitchen & a 450ltr in the hall......would lover another but hubby says no lol...

Be careful with the panda tetras....I have 7. I woke up one morning to find all my fish hidding at the bottom of my tank.....the pandas were terrorizing them. They have their own tank now with amano shrimp for company......lovely looking fish but wee terrors lol

Lol....I count heads everytime I look in any of my tanks... I'm glad they've appeared....they will come around to eating when they're hungry.

I also added a small shoal of copper Harlequins. After a few weeks they were shoaling together. My friend has 4 blood parrots in her tank, when she got them she didn't see them for 6 months. She used to peek through the crack in the door, just to get a glimpse of them lol.

My daughter has amano shrimp in with her betta, he just ignores them, he's more interested in the snail lol.

I had the same problem with Glowlight tetras. I bought some floating plants, that made them feel more secure ( no bright light).

My friend has offered me some cherry or amano shrimp for my tank but I have yo yo loaches in it. Will the loaches eat the shrimp?

I got my Bristlenose a few weeks ago, from a friend of my son's, he's almost an adult & I don't think he ever saw vegies lol. It took a few attempts for him to understand what Courgette (Zucchini) is. He now eats Courgette, cucumber & the odd shelled pea. I read somewhere you can give them...

Pic doesn't do him justice....when the light hits him he changes from black to blue/green hues....like oil on water & his tail changes to silver.

This is Diesel my ct betta. He keeps the harmony in his tank. If any of the other fish are fighting, he flares at them until they stop lol.

I agree...if your other tanks are peaceful community tanks, he should fit in nicely. I have mine in a 150 ltr with phantom tetras, corys, cardinal tetras & until recently platys. I exchanged the Platys for the cards, they were stressing the other fish with their bickering...all except my betta...

Feed twice a day, a mix of pellets & flakes in the morning, the plecos get their courgette & then microworms just before lights out.

Thanks for the advice, you learn something new everyday lol. Now I know why I don't buy anything out of my local lfs. She told me that she never changes the water in her tanks, she only tops them up & she's been selling fish for 20 years....yikes....poor fish :-( the new stock go in water...

So I should be upping my weekly pwc to 50% :-)
