That's what I am trying now is a new fish less cycle. Didn't know what else to try. Where I am the lfs is bad or worse. The price of being in Alaska. Thank you for the ideas and it is slightly reassuring that it wasn't something I had blatantly done wrong.
Trace ammonia while unhealthy should not kill a fish and was doing daily pwc to address it. First I added 1 betta, dead. Then 1 betta and 3 rasbora, rasbora didn't live the night. Next 1 betta and 5 neon, neon made it 24 hrs, betta 2 days, dead.
Ph is about 7.4. I don't know that betta had been in that 1.5 alone for almost a year just fine. I have a few plants in there and am wondering if I should start a full ammonia cycle. In just over a week I have lost 3 betta, 3 dashboard and 5 tetra. If it is a bug how do I know which one?
I recently purchased a 5.5 gal upgrade for my betta who was in a 1.5 gal. I used water, substrate and the filter from the old tank and let it sit for a day, amm .25 and no nitrite an 10 nitrate do I moved my little fish. He died 2 days later. Now over a week later, all water conditions fine...
Good luck with that, my betta will not tolerate any other tank mate. If you want a community betta, buy one at the lfs that is already in a community tank.
I live in an earthquake prone area, Alaska, and had planned on building my own stands with at least about a 2 inch lip the tank fit in directly. In bad shaking the glass will shatter regardless, the only thing you can really stop is things sliding off. All breakables on shelves are there with...
The plants will be fine, soak them for awhile in fresh water before you put them back in. I just completed cycling a 20 high with plants and the plants did just fine. What kind of plants did you get?
I have a cycled 20 gal with 7 zebra danios and a dwarf gourami. Eventually I will add 5 Pygmy virus, but I am looking for one more fish about the same size A's the DG but I hesitate to add another male DG after my research. Any suggestions?
